Road biking was my first taste of exercising on wheels. I loved the smooth terrain, how fast I could speed along, and how much distance I could cover, which made for great sightseeing. I never gave much thought to trying mountain biking, until my hubby persuaded me to go with him.

Dear Fit,
I'm fairly thin, have muscular thighs from running 20 minutes a few times a week and toned arms from doing yoga, but my belly is pudgy. I heard crunches won't get rid of my gut, but what exercises will?

I got my hands on the new Nike+ Sportband ($59) and was so psyched to start tracking my runs with it. If don't have the time or money to make it to a studio for a yoga class, you can practice yoga on your own. My Total Body Yoga Flow Sequence is a nine-posture series that will work your legs, core, and upper body. It's a great sequence to do after a run, in the morning to warm up, or in the afternoon for a pick-me-up.

If you're too hot to run, bike, or hike outside, but you still want to enjoy the Summer weather, exercising on water is a great way to beat the heat. Kayaking is one of my favorite water sports because it's safe to do alone, or if you prefer some company, you can kayak with a group of people.
The paddling action will effectively tone your arms, back, and abs.
