Now that you've read the benefits of strength training, hopefully you've decided to incorporate lifting weights into your workout, if you don't already.
Don't just assume that you should use an eight pound dumbbell for everything you do just because that is what every other woman at the gym does. Instead take the time to figure out how much you should be lifting with these guidelines: Pick a weight that you can lift 10-12 times without straining.

There has been a lot of talk about the cost of losing 30 pounds on preplanned diets and diet delivery services like Weight Watchers or The Zone. Some people love diets like this, and others would prefer to save the cash and go about it on their own. I am wondering if you could put a price on losing 30 pounds...

I definitely was a fan of Jackie Warner's Bravo show, Work Out. And though I didn't always agree with the drama in her personal life, Warner's workout ethic is inspiring. I was recently given a copy of the fitness DVD, Workout: One-on-One Training With Jackie ($10) and the picture of Warner on the cover was enough to make me drop and give her 20.

Powerhouse Hit the Deck ($20) is a new workout system that you can do "anywhere, anytime, with no fitness equipment needed." It's made up of 35 color-coded cards and an interval timer. Each card has a strength/cardio exercise on it, and its color denotes the exercise's level of difficulty.

Although sleep experts believe "falling back" and gaining an hour in Autumn is easier than losing an hour in Spring, it will still take your body a few days to acclimate to the time change. Here are a few tips on how to keep the change from adversely affecting your sleep habits:
- As much as it may seem like a good idea, avoid drinking extra caffeine for a few days after the time shift.
- Similar to avoiding that extra cup of joe, you should avoid taking a nap. Napping can interfere with your ability to fall asleep at the proper bedtime.
- Catch early morning rays.

Warm weather means exercising outdoors and sweating more. Sweating more translates directly into losing fluids. Your body needs to stay properly hydrated to function and perform well.
