Gunnar Peterson is no stranger to pet projects. Not only did he help Jennifer Lopez train for her triathlon last Fall, he also teamed up with
Molly Sims to help the canine set get some more exercise with the PetFit Challenge. These days he is teaming up with
Gatorade to spread the fitness word, which he did at the G Gym during the
Sundance Film Festival.

He's my favorite. I do two Gunnar videos a week (Tues and Thurs) and he is NOT kidding with the wood chop thing. just did 24 of them this morning - low to high. They are in practically every one of his videos. His vids are great, they get your heart rate up & work all muscles, always focusing on the core. Gotta say Gunnar, you are the greatest! His Bun Battle Video is killer. 20 minutes of continuous squats and lunges.

Gatorade, huh? I do have to say that sometimes that is the most quenching thing after a long workout.
3I'm REALLY surprised he is touting Gatorade...that sheeite is chock FULL of sugar and artificial color/flavorings and every fitness expert I have known has said to stay away from it. I thought you should stick to water. I know its not replacing 'electorlytes', but during a grueling work out do I really want to be pumping my self full of suagr and chemicals?
4great interview! it's very interesting to see different trainers' perspectives - definitely something i'd love to see more of on fitsugar (and not just celebrity trainers either- get 'em all to give us their advice!)

9Yeah, I'm with missyd on the Gatorade thing. Very rarely does the average person work out hard enough to need a Gatorade post-workout. Water and something with some protein is good enough for most people. Unless you are on a lower sodium diet and you are sweating an awful lot, Gatorade just adds calories and sugar to your diet.
