5 Things We Already Know About True Blood Season Four

Are you aware that the True Blood season premiere is a mere month away? The excitement has been heating up, but it reached a boiling point with the recently released photos from season four. But I know what you want besides pictures and previews: details. So gathering what we can from the pics and promos from the upcoming season, I've put together a list of a few things that we can expect when season four starts.

1) Eric has lost his memory. We had a sneak peek of a scene of Eric stumbling around, and then Alexander Skarsgard confirmed at PaleyFest that Eric has amnesia. Sexy, confused Eric? Still hot.

2) Tommy is still alive. At the end of season three, we saw an angry Sam go after his brother Tommy and then shoot at him, but the finale ended on a cliffhanger. From this picture, we know he survived (or is dead and making an appearance as a ghost, but let's err on the side of optimism, shall we?). Since Tommy turned against Sam at the end of the season, I wonder if he's going to keep making trouble for his brother, or if he'll straighten out.

read more. 3) Witches have invaded Bon Temps. Fiona Shaw joins the season as witch Marnie, and we've also viewed a scene of Bill and Eric discussing the new coven of witches. It's looking like witches will be to season four what werewolves were to season three, so gas up your broomsticks. 4) Bill won the fight with the vampire queen. It was obvious Bill would survive the fight he picked with Queen Sophie-Anne, because he's Bill, duh. And unless they went back on their agreement that the brawl was "to the death," then we have a great, bloody battle to look forward to in the season premiere. But will Sophie make it out alive? And if she doesn't, with Russell also gone, who's going to be the next big bad vampire leader? 5) Sam will get a new love interest. The sensitive shapeshifter has the worst luck when it comes to love (like a lot of people on this show), but this season, he may get to be happy for a while. His new sweetie is Luna, played by Janina Gavankar, though their bliss may be short-lived. As you can see from this clip, she's got some baggage in the form of a werewolf ex. Of course, there will be so much more to look forward to in the fourth season. I can't wait to see where Sookie's romantic life goes, now that she's a swingin' single after kicking Bill to the curb (I'm split between Eric and Alcide). Plus, there are more than a few cliffhangers to be resolved, like Jason's new role as leader in the werepanther community of Hotshot, or what's up with the creepy baby doll in Jessica and Hoyt's new house. DrSugar is in the house! This week she explains the pros and cons of using IUDs for birth control.

To continue our ongoing series of gynecological topics, I have decided to write about intrauterine devices (IUDs) as a form of birth control. Even though I learned about IUDs through many outlets (sex ed in school, medical school), I decided to research them more thoroughly since the birth control pills I started taking after having my baby negatively affected my milk supply. I had to find an alternate mode of contraception so I could continue to have an abundant milk supply for my little one. I had a Paragard (copper) IUD inserted a couple of weeks ago and I'll share my experience as well as more information about two types of IUDs in today's column! Keep reading for more info.

Lite'n it Up Feature: Warm Steak and Blue Cheese Salad

The thing about salads is that if you don't get creative, they can be pretty darn boring. This is why my mouth started watering when I read user tshellyedwards's post on a Warm Steak and Blue Cheese Salad in the Lite'n It Up Group. I am always looking for creative salad ideas so I'll definitely be trying this one.

Warm Steak and Blue Cheese Salad (from www.kraftfoods.com):
Prep Time: 20 min
Total Time: 20 min
Makes: 4 servings, about 3-1/2 cups each

Hi ladies! Here's a super easy, quick salad that is healthy and delicious. I've started taking pictures while cooking... so hopefully they'll be helpful to you if you decide to attempt the recipe yourself! Enjoy!

Ingredients:
1/3 cup Kraft Light Zesty Italian Reduced Fat Dressing, divided
1 lb. boneless beef sirloin steak, cut into thin slices
2 red peppers, sliced
1 small red onion, sliced, separated into rings
10 cups torn mixed salad greens
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
**Note: I just used the light Italian dressing I had in my fridge and used a small sweet yellow onion because that's what I had in the pantry.

Directions:
1. Slice the peppers, onion, and steak as directed in ingredients.

2. Heat 1 Tbsp. of the dressing in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add meat; cook 2 min., stirring constantly.

3. Add peppers and onions; cook and stir 5 min. or until meat is cooked through and vegetables are crisp-tender. Stir in remaining dressing.

4. Place 2-1/2 cups of the greens on each of four salad plates. Top evenly with the meat mixture and cheese just before serving.

And wa-la! Your tasty salad is ready to eat and enjoy!

Just as an FYI, I went onto the Kraft site and one serving of this salad is only 240 calories, which is not too shabby. However with four grams of saturated fat per serving, it's not something I would eat daily, but a great way to switch it up every once in a while.
