I learned a great deal during my experience at
Slow Food Nation — not just about sustainable eating, but also all about gourmet food in general, from rice to coffee. To share all my foodie facts with you, I've put together a fun quiz. How much might you learn?

Undoubtedly the most anticipated part of
Slow Food Nation were the
15 taste pavilions. The themed tents, curated by field experts and designed by renowned architects, offered samplings of regional American foods. Last week I showed you
some snapshots from the event; here are nine more appetizing moments.

I had a full serving of education on my proverbial plate at
Slow Food Nation this past weekend. Yesterday I tested your knowledge about
the festival itself, and now I've got some more questions about what I learned. How much do you know about
Slow Food?

Tonight marks the beginning of
Slow Food Nation '08, the highly anticipated celebration promoting sustainably grown food. The first-ever Slow Food festival to be held in the United States, the event has been declared
"the largest celebration of American food in history" by chef
Alice Waters.
I'll be present, along with the other 50,000 people expected to attend, and I can't wait to share my experiences at the taste pavilions with you.

There is nothing that I love more than Southern barbecue, so when I heard that the
Bay Area Barbecue Cook-Off was being held this weekend, I eschewed any social engagements in favor of firing up the 'cue. It was a perfect day for the event with clear blue skies, live country music, and some of the best barbecue around. Here are a couple of highlights.

PartySugar and I trekked half way across the country to attend the
Food and Wine Classic in Aspen. We arrived in one piece and are having a blast sitting in the sessions and hanging out at the tastings (more on all of that later). While here we've learned a bunch of interesting things.

This weekend the who's who of the food industry — including yours truly and YumSugar! — are headed to Aspen, CO, for
Food and Wine magazine's annual
Classic. Yum and I are super excited to check out the
seminars,
speakers, and of course, parties!

Wednesday night was huge for us here at Sugar headquarters: we hosted a private screening of the
Sex and the City movie! The extravaganza involved
glamorous outfits,
gorgeous looks, a plush red carpet, and a fantastic after party.
The event was held at a gutted-out, old Limited Store in the
Embarcadero Center.
