If you're like me you're right in the middle of figuring out gifts for the long list of people you love (or don't totally love, but still are obligated to buy for). I hate buying people gifts that I know are going to promote them being sedentary. It is hard when it comes to games but there are some games that really get you moving.

When basic massage or chiropractic adjustment doesn't ease your pain, it might be time to try craniosacral therapy. Similar to massage, a therapist applies gentle pressure to your spine, shoulders, head, chest, and abdomen to manipulate and adjust the craniosacral system — cranium (or head), the spine and the pelvis. This type of therapy is said to ease restrictions in nerve passages, encourage movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spinal cord, and restore alignment of bones in the spine.

The brain is located inside the cranium. The cranium is a set of bones which makes up the skull, and protects and holds the brain.
Indication
Brain surgery may be needed to treat:
- brain tumors
- bleeding (hemorrhage) or blood clots (hematomas) from injuries (subdural hematoma or epidural hematomas)
- weaknesses in blood vessels (cerebral aneurysms)
- damage to tissues covering the brain (dura)
- pockets of infection in the brain (brain abscesses)
- severe nerve or facial pain (such as trigeminal neuralgia or tic douloureux)
- epilepsy
Procedure
The hair on part of the scalp is shaved.

HEALTH GUIDE REFERENCE FROM A.D.A.M
Highlights
Verapamil May Cause Heart Problems
Verapamil (Calan) is a blood pressure medication that is used "off-label" as a first-line preventive treatment for cluster headaches. However, when used for cluster headache, this drug may sometimes cause dangerous disturbances in heart rhythms (arrhythmia), according to a 2007 study in Neurology. The researchers recommend that patients who take verapamil should receive regular electrocardiograms to monitor for any signs of potential heart problems.

There are four major bones of the face: the maxilla, the zygoma, the mandible, and the frontal bone of the cranium.
Indications
Patients requiring craniofacial reconstruction have:
- birth defects (such as hypertelorism, Crouzon's disease, Apert's syndrome)
- injuries to the head, face, or jaws (maxillofacial)
- tumors
- deformities caused by treatments of tumors
Procedure
While the patient is deep asleep and pain-free (under general anesthesia) some of the facial bones are cut and repositioned into a more normal facial structure. The procedure may take from four to 14 hours to complete.

HEALTH GUIDE REFERENCE FROM A.D.A.M
The skull is the bony structure of the head and face. The cranium surrounds the brain with the temporal, frontal, parietal and occipital bones. The maxilla, or upper jaw, and the mandible, or lower jaw, support the facial features of nose, mouth and eyes.

HEALTH GUIDE REFERENCE FROM A.D.A.M
Cluster headaches may be caused by blood vessel dilation in the eye area. Inflammation of nearby nerves may give rise to the distinctive stabbing, throbbing pain usually felt in one eye. The trigeminal nerves branch off the brainstem behind the eyes and send impulses throughout the cranium and face.

Definition
Surgical treatment to repair deformities of the head and face (craniofacial).
Alternative Names
Craniofacial reconstruction; Orbital-craniofacial surgery
Description
Surgery for head and face deformities (craniofacial reconstruction) depends on the type and severity of deformity, and the condition of the patient.
In some cases, because surgical repairs involve the skull (cranium), brain, nerves, eyes, facial bones, and facial skin, a plastic surgeon (for skin and face) and a neurosurgeon (brain and nerves) work together.
