Theirs vs Mine: Quick Raspberry Charlotte

After reading the French-themed March issue of Gourmet magazine, I could not stop thinking about this recipe for a quick raspberry charlotte. I finally got around to making this easy, tasty dessert last Friday night and it was deliciously rewarding!

Not-your-average dessert, this charlotte consists of ladyfingers, melted ice cream, and raspberries. The final result is refreshing and light. The hardest thing about this dessert was taking the picture. It may not have the prettiest presentation, but if you are looking for a lovely treat, I highly recommend this recipe. To check it out,

Charlotte's Thunder Road Marathon

Still looking to do a marathon before 2007? Charlotte's Thunder Road Marathon (Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half Marathon and 5K) is this weekend on December 9th!

From the time the green flag drops on the starters until the checkered flag falls on the final finisher (this race is race car themed), you will experience a unique race enjoying the sounds of music from the Southeast provided by local bands and DJs as you race. The Thunder Road Marathon will feature a mixture of the old and the new in Charlotte. This race is a Boston Marathon qualifier. But hurry, you must register in person by December 8th! Charlotte Ronson showed off warm, gorgeous color on an urban-cool collection for Fall 2012. After securing hair at the nape, Tresemmé stylist Jeanie Syfu tamed the style by using a hair color brush (the kind the pros use but are readily available at any beauty store) dipped in the brand's Ultra Firm Control Gel. Before entering the Grand Hyatt, Jake stopped to sign autographs and pose for a few photos. He then linked up with Charlotte Gainsbourg, British director Mike Leigh, and Dutch director Anton Corbijn. Iranian director Asghar Farhadi, German actress Barbara Sukowa, French director François Ozon, and Algerian writer Boualem Sansal round out the group of jurors. Jake and company will decide which of the eighteen films in competition takes home the prestigious Golden Bear Award for best picture. While the Edwardian era is all the rage at the moment, due to Downton Abbey, the 19th century was pretty fascinating as well, thanks in part to its fantastic literature. The Victorian era produced an amazing number of fantastic romance and horror novels, and one family that contributed greatly to the literature of the time was the Brontes. Sisters Charlotte, Emily, and Anne produced an impressive body of literature, both poems and fiction, which are still being used for films today - in fact, the latest adaptation of Jane Eyre is still one of my favorite films of 2011. Another adaptation of the novel Wuthering Heights screened at Sundance, so we can only hope that we'll have another chance at seeing Heathcliff on the silver screen soon.

Reese, Tom, and Chris Team Up to Show This Means War in LA

Reese Witherspoon joined her This Means War leading men on the red carpet at their LA premiere last night. She was decked out in a strapless dress from Miu Miu to sign autographs for fans and pose for pictures with "Piney" and Tom, who brought along his British actress fiancée Charlotte Riley. Reese, Chris, and Tom were together last weekend for their junket as well. We caught up with the trio there, and Reese joked about the challenges of choosing one of the two guys, Chris or Tom, in the movie. Yesterday, Reese talked about having more kids. She said, "I would love that!"

Chelsea Handler, who plays Reese's BFF, didn't pose with her costars. Instead, she made her way solo down the press line, and joked with us about her relationships with Reese, Chris, and Tom. When asked which actor, Chris or Tom, she would pick if given the choice, Chelsea went with Mr. Hardy since she's a big fan of muscles. We will likely see more of the foursome before the film hits theaters next Tuesday, Feb. 14, on Valentine's Day. Stay tuned for more from the event later today on PopSugar Rush.
