Spring has sprung and love is in the air, as wedding season returns once again. I'm sure that many of you are planning a wedding or have planned one in the past. Even if you're happily single, you know that getting in shape is high on many brides' to-do list, and we can all get behind fitness, right?

Next weeks, we'll be bringing you all sorts of tips on how to prepare your body for the big day, but meanwhile, we want to hear from you. So you're engaged! Yipeee! Congratulations. Now comes the hard part (along with everything else you have to do): finding the time to get in shape for your big day. Recently a lot of brides have been taking the guess work out of getting fit for their big day by enrolling in Basic Training for Brides.

Doug Rice of FittobeWedLive.com has an option for bridal fitness training online if you don't live in the LA area.
The super cool gym in NYC also offers a complete Bride to Be Program for a pretty penny.
Lisa Reed Fitness in Arlington, VA offers Bride to be Fit personal training sessions. Visit the site for pricing and to set up appointments.
Yvette Goree-Harris a personal trainer out of Houston, TX offers her own one on one Bridal Fitness Classes as well.
Look for Bridal Fitness group classes, programs or personal trainers offering special rates for brides near you -- Prices and programs will vary.

Fit's Tip: Sign up for bridal basic training (or start any fitness program) at least 4-6 weeks before your planned date.

Harley Pasternak on Posture Principle For Brides

Strapless and backless gowns give a bride an opportunity to show off her shapely shoulders. But a blushing bride doesn't want to look muscle-bound as she walks down the aisle, so one must be strategic when it comes to upper body toning. The trainer behind some of the hottest bodies in Hollywood, Harley Pasternak - he helped Hilary Duff and Katy Perry get wedding-ready - has some tips to help us all look stunning in this season's revealing necklines.

The trick to looking good in a strapless dress is posture. Standing tall with the aid of a strong upper back ensures that all those wedding photos turn out lovely. Harley recommends strengthening the rhomboids and triceps to "pull your shoulders back, give you a natural boob lift, and give you a nice long lean strong upper back and arms." Um . . . yes please! Here are four exercises he recommends to do just that:

Dumbbell rows to work the rhomboids.
Cable rows to strengthen the upper back. Here's a rowing variation using an exercise band if you don't have access to a cable pulley machine.
Lying dumbbell triceps extension for the back of the upper arm.
Single dumbbell triceps overhead extension will challenge your posture while toning your triceps.

Elle Macpherson was out and about today in a bikini as she continued her vacation in Sydney. The supermodel and lingerie designer showed off her fit frame in a two-piece as she stepped out into the Aussie Summer for yet another afternoon in the sunlight. Elle is back in her native country with her sons and her parents for the holidays, and has been staying active during her downtime, kayaking with her boys and splashing in the water. Elle's trip home caps off what was a busy 2011 for the model-turned-entrepreneur. Her Elle Intimates' bridal line launched over the Summer, and she also signed on to host Fashion Star - Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson's new reality series - earlier this year.

Jessica Simpson Is Getting Wedding-Ready With Tracy Anderson

Jessica Simpson is the latest celebrity to join Tracy Anderson's growing list of A-list clients. The star is enlisting the celeb trainer, who is best known for working with Gwyneth Paltrow, to help her get in shape for her upcoming nuptials to Eric Johnson. Tracy has designed a routine specifically for Jessica's needs that includes dance aerobics, ab work, and strength training.

Tracy told Us Weekly that Jessica wants to "look healthy" and "is in the mind-set that this is a big, forever lifestyle shift." For the last few weeks Jessica has been working out four times a week for 75 minutes each time - that shows definite commitment! We also wonder how much Jessica's diet has changed since meeting her fiancé, who follows a vegan diet; cutting back on meat is often an easy way to lose weight. Whatever it is, the work is paying off: Jessica looks great on the cover of this week's New York Magazine.

How Vanessa Minnillo Is Getting Fit For Her Big Day With Nick Lachey

Like many brides-to-be, Vanessa Minnillo is stepping up her fitness game before the big day. The star, who became engaged to Nick Lachey in November, has been working out three times a week with celeb trainer Gunnar Peterson. At a recent Under Armour event for its new Charged Cotton activewear, Vanessa told InTouch Weekly that she and Gunnar have been working out hard and that he trains her "like an athlete." She's still eating the kinds of food she wants, like pizza, but practicing portion control. Most of all it seems like Vanessa has a healthy attitude: "I am happy with where my body is now. I am happy in general, and I think it's all connected."

6 Tricks to Save on Winter Spending

Winter can be an expensive season with all the gift giving, and your bank account may look worse for wear during this time. Don't worry, there are plenty of smart strategies you can take to lower your Winter bills. Here are some money-saving tricks to keep in mind this cold season:

Invest in a programmable thermostat. Save energy and money by programming the thermostat to control the heating and cooling when you're away from home or asleep. And these don't have to be expensive investments - there are programmable thermostats available for about $35.
Insulate your home. Figure out if your home can improve on insulation by conducting an inspection. The US Department of Energy website has good tips on DIY home inspections. Save energy and money by installing what works best for your house, from installing windows and doors that fit better or plug and caulk cracks and holes. Be sure to do your research online first, before attempting to make these changes on your own.
Consider a space heater. Using a space heater instead of central heating can save you money. If you only need to heat up one or two rooms, you'll save more money and energy using a space heater than central heating.

Ivanka Trump was spotted on her way to The Today Show studios in NYC this morning. She stopped to pose for a photo with some young fans before heading inside to chat about real estate on air. Ivanka gave birth to daughter Arabella Rose just one month ago, and she looked fabulous in a fitted purple dress and pink heels for the appearance. Ivanka explained the meaning of Arabella's name recently, saying she's "always loved the name Arabella, and [her husband] Jared's grandmothers had names beginning with an A and an R. Plus, we thought that the initials - ARK - were cool!" Ivanka spent a little time away from her baby in order to attend a pal's bridal shower last week. Arabella, though, was in Ivanka's thoughts when she made a cake featuring her child's initials at the event.

Kim Kardashian Arrives in NYC and Heads Straight to Vera Wang

Kim Kardashian caught a red-eye out of LA last night and touched down in NYC this morning to have her final dress fitting at Vera Wang's bridal boutique. The Big Apple trip was a quick one, since Kim hopped on a plane four hours later to go back to the West Coast. Kim and her fiancé, Kris Humphries, are inching closer to their Aug. 20 nuptials, though fans of Keeping Up With the Kardashians will have to wait until Oct. 9 and 10 when E! airs Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event in two one-hour episodes. It seems Kim's star-studded ceremony has already scored a national magazine cover as well, with reports she and Kris sold the exclusive rights to People. The Kardashian family has another reason to celebrate this week as Kim's younger sister Kylie Jenner turns 14 today. Kylie and the other females in the family, Khloe, Kourtney, and Kendall, are to be involved on the big day, and it's rumored Kim's bridesmaids will wear Alexander McQueen.
