Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that combines self-defense, dance, music, and acrobatics.
It's a movement game that is played by 2, surrounded by a group forming a circle, or roda (pronounced ho-da) around them, playing musical instruments and singing to keep the tempo of the game moving along. Many of the songs are sung in a call and response format like Kirtan.

I wasn't a huge fan of Dance and Be Fit — Latin Groove. It just didn't satisfy my need for authentic merengue or samba whatsoever, but since I'm open-minded and love to dance, I thought I'd give Dance and Be Fit — Brazilian Body a try. The back of the DVD explains the workout like this: "By using elements of Brazil's heart-pounding, steamy dances such as maculelê, samba reggae, and capoeira, this workout targets all your trouble spots while burning fat and calories."

To keep my fitness life fresh I've tried a variety of classes: Brazilian martial arts Jiu Jitsu, spiritual aerobic dance Nia, and Hooping to learn some impressive Hula-hoop tricks.
Now I really want to try Jukari, a fitness class that combines cardio and suspension. Designed by Cirque du Soleil, it has to be both fun and challenging like Circus Arts.

A combination of healthy diet and dedicated exercise is the ticket to achieving an in-shape physique, and Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio put this philosophy into gear during the two and a half months following the birth of her baby. She more than held her own next to her fellow Angels strutting down the runway at the annual Victoria's Secret fashion show last weekend where she sported lingerie and hard abs.
According to Alessandra's trainer Leandro Carvalho, "She gained quite a lot of weight.
