I can’t even believe I’m writing this - but it’s not as bad as you’d think. Yesterday, with one too many Christmas cookies weighing on my conscience, I laced up my running shoes after the East Coast media-dubbed “Christmas Blizzard of 2010" and went out for a near five-mile run. What I learned? With the right gear to keep you warm, running in snow is actually quite fun.

With caution to avoid ice patches, running on shoveled sidewalks or packed snow were the safest terrain options. I would compare the packed snow of the sidewalk to the feeling of running on wet sand in the summer.

Make Snowmageddon Work For You

The East Coast is knee-deep in a snowpocalypse - or as some call it, snowmageddon. While some people are understandably pissed off at the headache that all of this snow presents, there are others who are making the most it by turning their city into a ski resort. I've seen pics of cross-country skiers making their way through Central Park, people snowshoeing in Philly, and others snowboarding their way through DC. My favorite has to be all the sledding and snowball fights that are going on. I admit that I have no idea what it's like to deal with a blizzard: temperatures at Sugar HQ are in the 50s.

If you're stuck in the snow this week, give yourself a snow day pass and burn some calories, too. Sledding burns over 300 calories an hour, snowshoeing over 400, and a hike through the snow will definitely get your blood pumping. And while a little fun in the snow might not take away all of the burn of the snow storms - think: school closures, airplane delays, and just getting to the grocery store - it might kill a little time until things can get back to normal.

I think Dairy Queen's tag line is Do Something Different because they want us to go against the healthy eating and just blow it all at their fine establishment. Don't get me wrong, I had my fair share of Blizzards in college however after learning the nutritional information, I am not sure a Blizzard will ever cross these lips again. The Sundance Film Festival has been jam-packed with parties, red carpets, and star-studded events since it kicked off witha rip-roaring, blizzard-filled opening weekend. The Bing Bar played host to everyone from Drake on Saturday night to Kristen Bell for her House of Lies happy hour on Sunday. Elsewhere in Park City, Emma Roberts partied with her cast of Celeste and Jesse Forever, while Joshua Jackson caught up with his Lay the Favorite costars. LTF was getting a lot of buzz coming into the festival and was completed just days before it premiered.

Aziz Ansari took advantage of Sundance to schedule some stand-up, and he actually acted as Drake's opening act at the Bing Bar on Saturday. During the show, Cuba Gooding Jr. stormed the stage when he thought people weren't giving Aziz the attention he deserved. Aziz also stepped out to support his Parks and Recreation costar Rashida Jones, who made her screenwriting debut in Celeste and Jesse. Lizzy Caplan and Kirsten Dunst's movie Bachelorette hits Sundance on Monday evening, but the girls caught up beforehand as well. On Sunday, Lizzy joined Allison Brie, Christina Hendricks, and her husband Geoffrey Arend all sat together to enjoy a relaxing dinner at Chefdance. Bradley Cooper rolled into town late, since his film The Words is one of the last to premiere at the festival. There'still the final weekend and Sundance awards to come, but here's all the latest party pics from all the awesome events!

Lucky magazine is one of our favorite sources for great shopping tips. We're thrilled to share this fabulous story on an awesome Winter coat find from our friends at Lucky!
Ahh, the curse of the puffer jacket: the sporty topper can brave any blizzard, but not any sartorial situation. Weekend errands? Sure. Après ski? Of course. But an occasion more fancy than sporty? Not so much.
And that's why we're so thrilled by this Nau down jacket, which is both voluminous and waist defining. The surprising shape renders it sort of artful, like something we'd see on the Comme de Garçons runway instead of Mariah Carey at Sundance.
