Would You Leave the House with No Makeup? They don't call it bare-faced cheek for nothing. Stepping out the house sans makeup, is either a beauty crime or no big deal, depending on how you see it. My cousin, who we jokingly call the Australian Peaches Geldof (her dad was in a famous 70's rock band and her mum used to date England footballer George Best), has the best skin I've ever seen and is all-round beautiful, but she admitted she'd never, ever leave the house with no makeup on, even if it was just to buy milk.

Do Good Looks Help Women Get Their Way?

Do Good Looks Help Women Get Their Way? I came across a great article over the weekend on Tango.com, raising the issue of how good looks affect the way people treat you, and in this case, how much people give you. To test the notion, a Current TV reporter spent two days on the streets of London seeing how much she could get away with — one day dressed and made up, the other day looking plain and casual. As I'm sure most of you assume, she got way more on day one — from free taxi rides to free cake — and men didn't even flinch at her somewhat outlandish requests.

Nintendo DS Teams Up With Shiseido Makeup My Nintendo DS knows the contours of my thumbs very well — why shouldn't it know the contours of my face? In late November, when Project Beauty launches, it will. Project Beauty, the result of a collaboration between Shiseido and Nintendo DS, is a DS game that will recognize your face from a scan, and will then make beauty product recommendations for you (probably Shiseido products).

Locker Room Beauty Fixes in a Flash I often love the way I look after a nice hard workout. The problem is that when I am working out at lunch, the "I've just sweat buckets" look doesn't always mesh with a post workout meeting with my boss. Fitness Magazine consulted with workout diva Denise Austin on her own personal locker room beauty tips that make going from sweaty to sweet in minutes.

Beauty Factory Game: For the Ambitious, Beauty-Obsessed Geek

Beauty Factory Game: For the Ambitious, Beauty-Obsessed Geek If you can't get enough of Second Life or Sims-like games where you're challenged to create an avatar and personality that succeeds in a virtual world, AND you also happen to be obsessed with one day running your own beauty product factory and company, then I've got the ultimate niche video game for you: Beauty Factory. When I first glanced at the game, I assumed it was a video game with challenges like, "Coordinate the Lip Gloss to the Nail Polish," or "Ultimate Smoky Eye Challenge," but when I saw the tag line, "Girls just wanna have business," I realized my mistake. Beauty Factory is an exercise in being a cosmetics industry mogul, and has more to do with marketing and innovating than mascara and eye shadow application.

Dear Poll: Do You Consider Yourself Photogenic?

Dear Poll: Do You Consider Yourself Photogenic? It’s true what they say about everybody being their worst critic; at least it certainly seems to be the case when it comes to our opinions of our physical attributes. Stare at a picture of yourself for even a second too long and it’s easy to start internally tallying all of the things about yourself that you don’t like. Whenever I have a tendency to do this, I remind myself that looking back, I'll care far more about the memories than whether or not it looked like I had a double chin.

Did the Airline Hate Them Cuz They're Beautiful? Earlier this year, two 18-year-old women claimed that Southwest flight attendants discriminated against them on a cross country flight. The reason? Because "nobody else on the plane looked like us, except us."
