America to World, "I'm Curvy!"

There are a lot of starlets in Hollywood that would cause great angst in my life if my daughters held them as a role model. America Ferrera, however, is not one of them. America continues to impress us with her on screen talent as well as her off screen grace, including her healthy outlook on life. She'll be the first to tell you that she's not looking to be a size zero, and that she thinks there's way too much attention placed on the way stars look. Here's more:

"And I think it’s hilarious when people call Jessica Alba or Eva Longoria curvy. Come on – they’re not curvy. I’m curvy!"

America said she was fortunate to nab the role of Betty, because she's not prepared to starve herself for her art. “I’ve been really lucky," she said. "The role has prepared me to be exactly who I am and not to change."

"And what is normal now? Is it normal to be size zero?"

She continued: "Starving yourself is not beautiful.”

Three words: You go girl!

Which Body Part Would You Insure?

Celebrities will do anything to keep their bodies in tip top shape, even if it means taking out a hefty insurance policy on it. ~~It's absolutely absurd~~ Makes sense, especially with all the hard work a celeb can put into their bod.

All this comes to light with the announcement that America Ferrera's teeth are being insured by Aquafresh for a cool $10 million with Lloyds of London. So, if you had the means, which part of your own body would you have insured?

Healthy and Not at ALL Ugly: America Ferrera

The whole world loves America, but not just because of her hit sitcom but also because she has a very healthy outlook on her body.

America tells the March 5th, 2007 issue of In Touch that she wasn't always so confident in her body:

On her body before: "I've tried almost every diet."

On her body now: "You have to build a normal relationship with exercise and food, for me it's not about looking like a supermodel -- it's about feeling good about who I am naturally."

On how she maintains her figure: "It's called a lot of stress and a lot of work!"

On working out: "I don't have much time to exercise, but when I do, I hike, run and do yoga."

On working with models: "Well in real life, I'm not sucking down pies or anything! I'm not unhealthy."

On sizes: "We're not all a size 2 and we're not all a size 0, and you know what? That's okay because some of us like to eat!"

Definitely a woman comfortable with her genes.

Stand Up to Cancer With the Stars

Most likely, cancer has affected everybody in one way or another, which is why it's so important that we bind together to find a cure. But it's not just your own efforts to stay healthy that will keep cancer out of your life. You should also think about the greater cause.

Tonight be sure to check out the Stand Up to Cancer telethon. This one-hour, commercial-free event will be broadcast on NBC, ABC, and CBS simultaneously to raise funds for the fight against cancer. Celebs such as Jennifer Aniston, Fergie, Jack Black, Jennifer Garner, Miley Cyrus, America Ferrera, and many more will be on hand to give their support, so it's bound to be just as entertaining as it is a good cause. How Much Are You Worth?

A while back, I posted about celebrity body parts being insured for lot of cash, like America Ferrera's smile being insured by Aquafresh for $10 million by Lloyds of London.

Well, I have found an interesting and somewhat related calculator. I must warn you it is a little morbid, but also a lot of fun. Mingle 2, an online dating service, has created a Cadaver Calculator. Why they created this calculator, I do not know, but it is quite entertaining.

Answer just 20 questions about your age, lifestyle, habits and health, and you will learn the market value of your cadaver. Values are primarily based on overall health and the level of interest your would be corpse holds to the medical research industry.

Morbid I know, but oh so fascinating. So if you have a few moments to kill (ahhh, what a funny pun!), you should check it out. However, I do not feel the monetary value placed on your corpse is indicative of your current health status.
