We all saw Eva Longoria walking around to get toned up for her big wedding extravaganza, but that girl was doing way more than just walking to get the body of her dreams for the day of her dreams.
According to her trainer, Patrick Murphy, Eva wanted to look strong, she wanted really nice posture and she wanted her arms to look great.

Valerie Bertinelli is on the cover of this week's People magazine, showing off her lean body in a bikini for the first time since she was 20 years old, just in time for her 48th birthday! Two years ago she was a larger version of herself, at 172 pounds, which she felt was more than 40 pounds over her ideal weight for a person who's 5'4".
So how did she lose the weight and get bikini-ready?

To be honest, I'm not a fan of DVDs or books that include "weight loss" in their titles, but I am a fan of cardio and using dumbbells to tone, so I gave the DVD Weight Loss: Cardio Sculpt ($15) a try. This 54-minute video incorporates a warmup, two 20-minute workouts (Pure Sculpt to tone your muscles, and Interval Cardio Burn to burn calories), and a cooldown.
Violet Zaki, a fitness instructor at Equinox in New York City, leads the workout so she's tough, but very encouraging.

It's February and hopefully you're proud of yourself for sticking to the resolution you made on Jan. 1 to start exercising regularly. You've been hitting the gym three times a week, doing 30 minutes on the treadmill and 40 minutes of weight training and stretching.

First came the book, Skinny B*itch — a saucy self-help book to help ladies change their relationship with food and take control of their lives. Then coauthors and BFFs Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin wrote a cookbook, Skinny B*itch in the Kitch. Now these ladies want to get you moving, so they created some fitness DVDs.

If you've been curious to try a kettlebell workout but your gym doesn't offer one, then work it at home with The Firm Kettlebell Kit ($25). It comes with a five-pound kettlebell and a 45-minute DVD to show you how to use it.
I'm new to the kettlebell scene, but now I am a convert.

There are so many DVDs out there that get your heart rate up, so I was psyched to find a video devoted to strength training called Strong Body, Ageless Body with Erin O'Brien. This woman is the definition of bubbly, and I love how she says, "We are so fortunate we get to exercise." She's very personable and encouraging, and the fact that this workout was filmed in her (or someone's) living room gave the DVD a comfortable feel.
