Celeb Mom Slim Down Secrets: Nancy O'Dell

Nancy O'Dell has reportedly lost 24 of the 30 pounds she gained from being pregnant, and it's only been nine weeks since she gave birth!

O'Dell, like many new moms, gives credit for her weight loss to breastfeeding: "Breastfeeding is the best diet," said O'Dell. Plus she said her diet now consists mostly of lean protein, vegetables and fruit because since she is breastfeeding, she wants to eat healthy for her daughter. She has also been avoiding milk, cheese, tomatoes and garlic, because it upsets Ashby's, (her new daughter), stomach.

O'Dell is no fool however, and realized that along with healthy eating, she should get some exercise in there too, so she started working out with a trainer just four weeks after she gave birth. O'Dell outlines her workout: "I do ballet and dance movements for an hour three times a week. It's great, because you work out every muscle but it's not strenuous."

Curious how other moms in Hollywood lost the weight? Check out all the celeb mom slim down secrets.

Get Golden Globe Ready: Nao Spa

The stars take no short cuts when it comes to getting red carpet ready for the Golden Globes. It is being reported they can lose up to 5 pounds in just hours, but how?

Well you're going to have to fly to New York and book an appointment at the super exclusive Nao Spa for The NAO Signature Treatment Ryu-Jitsu (or Dragon's Magic) is exclusive in the United States to NAO. This treatment is a groundbreaking three-part biorhythm program to slim, detoxify, enhance metabolism, burn fat and strengthen core muscles using a combination of the advanced technology of their whole-body vibration exerciser (sort of like a less advanced Power Plate), the heated lava Stone Spa Bed and therapeutic (lymphatic) massage on the revolutionary soft pack bed. This unique program adjusts the autonomic nervous system, building a stronger body to overcome everyday stress. Acting like an A-lister will cost you, as the Ryu-Jitsu (and a slimmer you) is a whopping $350.

To see it in action, check it out on AccessHollywood.com.

WHO gets involved!

The world of weight seems to be full of extremes. We see women in Hollywood and the fashion world suffering from the too skinnys. We also keep hearing, almost daily, how obesity is on the rise in the U.S., Europe and now China. Well the World Health Organization (WHO) has decided to get involved.

Fox News reports that WHO created a charter to combat obesity and 53 European nations have climbed on board. Their new charter requires governments to adopt regulations for safer roads to promote cycling and walking. In the Netherlands I remember seeing everyone biking – women older than my mom, little kids, and I even saw one woman carrying her cello while biking. Also on WHO's agenda calls for access to healthy foods in low income, urban areas. I know this is a problem in the U.S. too – you can’t even buy fresh produce with food stamps. The charter also addresses childhood obesity which is on the rise--most definitely in the U.S.

Will these things reverse the trend? Probably not, but I sure do think they can help.
