A Love Advice Columnist Has a Major Crush (on Her Home!)

Advice columnists are used to answering questions - though usually not about themselves. Today, love advice columnist Wendy Atterberry of Dear Wendy is revealing her crushes and love for all things home-related. Wendy lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband, Drew, their baby boy, Jackson, and their two cats, Simone and Miles (who make a cameo in the photos here). Keep reading to see what Wendy has to say about why she's majorly crushing on her home.

What she most loves about her home:

It's a tie for my favorite spot in my home between my bedroom (and specifically, my bed), and my "china cabinet" wall. My husband, Drew, and I painted all the walls in our place, inspired by the colors of the beach, so I love the shades of green in both spots. We have a king-size bed, which feels like a luxury, and I love Sunday mornings when all five of us - Drew, our new baby Jackson, our two cats, Miles and Simone, and I - all pile in the bed and read books, nap, and talk. Drew and I love to travel, so above our bed we framed postcards of all the places we've traveled together in the nearly six years we've known one another. The china cabinet in my other favorite spot of the apartment belonged to my great-great-grandparents and I just love it. It's filled with lots of glassware for entertaining, which is something we enjoy doing. Everything else in that spot is a second-hand buy, found at garage sales or thrift stores, with the exception of the gray wool blanket on the bench, which I found somewhere online.

What others love most about her home:

Probably our "bar," which is usually pretty well-stocked thanks to generous friends who bring bottles of stuff whenever we have get-togethers. People also comment that our place is "cozy," which could also be a euphemism for "small," but here in New York where most places are tiny, I like to think it's a genuine compliment.

What she'd love to add to her home:

Luckily, we already have most everything I'd want in a home - a walk-in closet, a big bathtub, a dishwasher, central air, and a washer and dryer. We even have a large balcony, which is pretty awesome in the warmer seasons. But if I could wave a magic wand and make this truly my dream home, I'd add one more bedroom (and maybe an elevator!); our second bedroom - now our baby's room - is awfully small and one day we'll outgrow this place, which will be sad. More realistically, I'd love to change the light fixture in the dining area, which is pretty ugly. We're renters, so it doesn't make sense to put any more money into the place, but if we owned, that would be the first - and maybe only thing - I'd change. Oh, and more original artwork. Oh, and a hammock! If only money were no object . . .

Jennifer Lopez Stops by The Tonight Show to Chat Idol, Her Coconuts, and Valentine's Day

Jennifer Lopez, wearing a chic black dress, stopped by The Late Show last night in LA to chat with Jay Leno. Jay began by getting Jen's thoughts on the passing of Whitney Houston. Jen described her voice as "the pinnacle" of greatness in the music industry and called the entire situation "sad." The conversation switched to a lighter subject when Jay asked about her latest TV projects, American Idol and ¡Q'Viva! The Chosen. As for Idol Jen said her job on the panel is to "keep it fair" when her fellow judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler get distracted by pretty contestants. Meanwhile, in regards to working with her ex Marc Anthony Jen said they "had a lot of fun."

Jen and Marc have moved beyond their breakup and both seem to be moving on with new relationships. He's been spotted on the arm of Shannon de Lima and Jen's been enjoying romantic beach dates with Casper Smart. She wasn't sure about her Valentine's Day plans, but did mention receiving a necklace in the shape of coconuts, which happens to be her nickname for twins Max and Emme.

The Grammy Awards took place in LA last night! The action started right away on the star-studded Grammys red carpet, where outlandish fashions were donned by some of music's biggest names like Fergie, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna. The fun continued during the show, thanks to host LL Cool J. In addition to paying homage to the late Whitney Houston, there were lighter moments thanks to performances from Rihanna and Coldplay, Katy Perry, Paul McCartney, and even the Beach Boys. The night, though, belonged to Adele with six wins for her song "Someone Like You" and her album 21. The Foo Fighters were a close second with five new statues. Kate Hudson and Ryder Take Their Bikes For a Spin on the Beach

Kate Hudson and her son Ryder hopped on their bikes near the beach in Santa Monica yesterday. Ryder sported sunglasses and a helmet while Kate covered up in a hat as they rode around side by side. It was just the latest sunny outing for Kate following a getaway to Mexico earlier this month. Kate's bikini body was on display as she lounged poolside with fiancé Matthew Bellamy, who soaked up the rays while wearing a bathrobe. 2012 hasn't been just about downtime for Kate, though, since she participated in a live reading of her mom Goldie Hawn's movie Shampoo with Bradley Cooper last month and is gearing up to start shooting a new film, Everly, this Spring.

Foursquare Finds Top 10 Cities For Romance

Valentine's Day is a day away and amore is in the air. If you've set up a geek-filled date for your one and only, congrats on planning ahead. If not, well, you could always wander the streets of these US cities that were found to be the most romantic in the country. Foursquare studied 1.5 billion check-ins and determined which cities were the most romantic, based on check-ins to places deemed "romantic" for couples, like French restaurants, wine bars, flower shops, and lingerie boutiques. Adele's Sweep, a Prayer For Whitney Houston, and More 2012 Grammys Highlights

The 2012 Grammy Awards were all about Adele's major wins and the sad passing of Whitney Houston. After a kickoff from Bruce Springsteen, host LL Cool J led a prayer for Whitney and gave a look back at some of her stellar Grammys performances. Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt honored another late musical star, Etta James, with a song. Bonnie and Alicia also presented best pop solo performance to Adele for "Someone Like You." Adele, who suffered from vocal problems for the last year, appropriately thanked her doctors. Further accolades went to Jay-Z and Kanye West, both absent, for best rap song with "Otis," and Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters picked up best rock performance for "Walk." Bon Iver took home best new artist.

Rihanna and Coldplay teamed up for one of the evening's most memorable duets. Her "We Found Love" segued into Coldplay's "Princess of China" and "Paradise." Another highlight was the long-awaited reunion of the Beach Boys, and they brought back their hit "Good Vibrations" with some help from Adam Levine. Taylor Swift won two honors before the proceedings even began, and later went folksy with her stint behind the mic. Katy Perry, taking a different approach, donned a skintight bodysuit for "Part of Me." Katy changed the words to the track, apparently making a dig at her ex Russell Brand.

Adele was back onstage later in the night with her adorable producer, Paul Epworth, to accept song of the year for "Someone Like You." She made her triumphant return to the microphone with her hit, after a glowing introduction from Gwyneth Paltrow, and received a standing ovation from her big fans like Paul McCartney and Rihanna. The track was also crowned record of the year and her 21 was album of the year! A teary Adele raised her new gold, joked about having a snotty nose, and said to her mother, "Mom, girl did good!"

Jennifer Hudson helped wrap things up with a touching Whitney Houston tribute, belting out "I Will Always Love You." The show was officially closed by Paul McCartney with help from his "friends" like Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh, and Bruce Springsteen. Katy Perry Matches Her Blue Hair to an Elie Saab Gown For the Grammys

Katy Perry was all about blue on the red carpet at this evening's Grammys. She paired her bright colored hair with a similarly-hued dress from celeb favorite Elie Saab. Katy's up for two honors this evening. "Fireworks" is in contention for record of the year and she's also up for best pop solo performance. We'll see if Katy gets her hands on her first Grammy, as she's been nominated - for six previously - but hasn't won. She's especially excited for one of the show's performers. Katy tweeted earlier this afternoon, "You know it's a great day when you walk into the Staples Center and all The Beach Boys are physically playing on stage." Ashley Tisdale and Sarah Hyland Hit the Beach in Bikinis For a Photo Shoot With Matt Lanter

Venice Beach got a star-studded dose of fun when Ashley Tisdale, Sarah Hyland, Austin Stowell, and Matt Lanter hit the sand for a photo shoot yesterday. Sarah, who was on a break from filming Modern Family, and Ashley wore bikinis and other beachwear while Matt and Austin rode bikes in flip-flops. It was an especially exciting afternoon for Sarah since she was celebrating her two-year anniversary with boyfriend Matt Prokop and shared her love for him on Twitter writing, "happy 2 years baby. I love you too much. Best 2 years ever!!" Matt Lanter has another busy day in front of him since he'll be back in front of the cameras for a photo shoot tomorrow morning before heading to the set of 90210.
