I'm a huge fan of The Office, mostly because I've loved following the romance between the adorable receptionist Pam and her co-worker, now husband, Jim Halpert. Check out the cover of the November issue of Shape to see that Jenna Fischer, who plays the down-to-earth Pam, is smokin' hot once she takes off her cardigan and pearls. This wasn't always the case though.

I don't know about you, but at least weekly in my office, someone sends out an email about some delicious food in the kitchen, whether it's freshly baked muffins or a box of See's candy. Getting instant food alerts can be very tempting, but indulging every time could sabotage your healthy eating efforts. One strategy is allowing yourself to give into just one temptation a week, but what if you're on the fence about whether to indulge in the latest treat?

Say what you will about New Jersey, but it is the first of the 50 states to create an Office of Nutrition and Fitness. The goal of the agency is to better coordinate programs to prevent obesity, most of which will be aimed at children since the Garden State has the highest percentage of overweight and obese children under age 5 - 17.7 %.
The programs will tackle the obesity problem through education, support groups and encouraging physical activity, rather than by banning particular foods.

Turns out excessive texting can get you more than a hefty phone bill. Though it's the preferred choice of easy communication for young adults and teens, a new study reveals that texting can actually increase upper body pain in the neck and shoulders.
Though this is only a preliminary study, the research shows that the same neck and shoulder discomfort seen in working adults is now being seen in college students between the ages of 18 and 21, specifically males.

When I hear the word "Parkour," I immediately think of the season premiere of The Office, where Michael, Dwight, and Andy attempt to take up this extreme sport, meekly somersaulting over couches, barely hopping over cars, and falling into refrigerator boxes. It made me laugh out loud, but seeing real Parkour athletes in action makes my jaw drop. Their gravity-defying tricks, amazing strength, creative balance, and bold fearlessness will blow your mind.

You're excited (for the most part at least) to be back at work after the holidays, refreshed and ready for the new year. What you may not be ready for is all of the germs lurking around your office, not in the bathroom, but at your very own workstation.
The germiest places at work are:
- Your phone
- Your desktop
- Your keyboard
- Your mouse
- The fax machine
- The photocopier
According to Charles Gerba Ph D., professor at the University of Arizona, the least amount of germs in the office are found on toilet seats because they, unlike your keyboard, get cleaned nightly -- On average germs can lurk around for 72 hours.
