Sep 18 2009 - 10:00am Finding the perfect exercise shoe is a tough challenge. Even though there are a couple brands I've had luck with, I always end up spending at least an hour trying on every type of sneaker made by every brand in the store, just to make sure I've found the best fit. Sometimes I even end up having to go to more than one store!

Good tip, Fit! I hate when a brand discontinues my fav shoe
1This is so so true. Saucony discontinued my fave shoe and I could have kicked myself for not stocking up when I had the chance!
2Yeap - happened to me. I wear Mizuno Alchemy series. I still like the Alchemy 7, but they no longer make it.
3My running partner bought 5 pairs at once, and then he wrote down the date on the inner sole of his shoes. He replaced it every 500 miles, and then he donate all his old running shoes.
Yeah I had some running shoes I absolutely adored and stupidly didn't buy extras and--you guessed it- they're discontinued now, not to be found even on ebay.
4But don't they say that the support of shoes degrade over time, regardless of whether you're using them or just storing them?
I've always suspected a little that this may be a good marketing ploy in favour of ever-new models, but I did read that from a reputable source... so that'd be an argument against stocking up too many pairs in advance!
