Recently I learned about a new program offered to Safeway Club Card members called FoodFlex. (For those of you unfamiliar with Safeway, it is a major grocery store.) Basically FoodFlex is a program that you enroll in (free) and you're able to see all your previous purchases that you've swiped your club card for. The program then analyzes all your purchases for nutrition based on USDA dietary guidelines.

I used to only shop at health food stores since my mainstream grocery store was full of conventional produce, white bread, and processed food laced with corn syrup. Now I can go to any grocery store because so many of them offer organic fruits and veggies, whole grain foods, local dairy products, and organic meats. If you're wondering which US grocery stores rank top on the list for being the healthiest, check out this list compiled by Health magazine:

The Center for Science in the Public Interest (or CSPI) would like to stop seven egg producers from implying that their eggs can reduce the risk of heart disease.

I have discovered a new love: Stacy's Pita Chips. I have always been a fan of pita chips. Problem is that I am not always so excited to bake them on my own and I get weary of store bought pita chips as you never know what they use to make them.
