Get excited: tomorrow is National Piña Colada day! Since the piña colada is the only blended drink I enjoy, I wanted to share my favorite recipe. I first made these coladas back in 2005 when I lived in Spain. After a long day at the pool, I craved the tropical combination of pineapple, coconut, and rum. Since I couldn't order it in a bar, I found a recipe that calls for fresh pineapple. It's a simple concoction that results in a sublime cocktail. It's thick, frothy, fruity, and potent. Leave out the rum and you've got a special treat for the kiddies. While you make the drink, I highly recommend listening to "Escape/The Piña Colada Song" - it will get you in the mood! (I may have listened to it while writing this story . . .)

At Home Spa Treatment: Piña Colada Body Exfoliant

Sometimes you need a vacation and taking one is simply impossible. This is when you have to pamper yourself. If you can't sip a piña colada on the beach, why not have a piña colada exfoliating bath? Yep, you can make a great all body exfoliant with the same ingredients you use to make the very same tropical cocktail you would like to be sipping on some beach.

According to Lindisima this treatment will both moisturize your skin as well as act as a gentle exfoliant. The coconut milk moistens the skin and the fruit acid of the pineapple exfoliates dry skin.

Here's what you need:

2 cups of pineapple juice
1 cup of coconut milk (fresh or canned)
1 cup of milk (fat free is better and easier to clean)

Here's what you do:

Place all ingredients in a blender to mix or puree. Draw a bath with water at your favorite temperature.

Pour "piña colada" mixture into the bath water and soak for 10 or 15 minutes.

Sip some cold water with lime or lemon. Close your eyes and feel the Caribbean sea breeze.
Shower after the treatment and apply body lotion.

Just a reminder that if you are allergic to any of these ingredients, you should just give this treatment a pass. And since soaking in hot water can increase the effects of alcohol, you shouldn't drink a piña colada while taking your piña colada bath.

Long Island Iced Tea: 780 cals, 44g carbs
White Russian: 425 cals, 26g carbs
Mai Tai: 350 cals, 30g carbs
Champagne Cocktail: 250 cals, 13g carbs

Fit's Tip: After every alcoholic drink, you should down 2 glasses of water to fill you up and keep you hydrated.

We're inching steadily closer to the Oscars, which means it's time to start planning for the big night! If you're going to tune in, why not invite over a few friends and host a festive bash? If you're pulling for George Clooney, best picture nominee The Descendants is a perfect place to draw some inspiration, especially if you're one to dream of tropical climates. Here are a few tips for planning your luau, and don't forget to fill out a ballot with your Oscar picks for a chance to win an iPad.

How to decorate: Hawaii plays a huge role in the film, so go all out! Lots of flowers (real or fake) in splashy colors will punch up your place, and fake palm trees will add a nice touch. If you want to go the extra mile, set up an indoor kiddie pool and float lilies and candles on it. For additional seating, use beach chairs or even towels.
How to dress: Clooney's character Matt dresses almost exclusively in silly Hawaiian shirts, so those are a must (the uglier, the better). His daughter Alex (Shailene Woodley) spends most of her time in a bikini, which you can cover up with jean shorts and a button-down. If it's too cold for Summer clothes in your neck of the woods, a lei should suffice.
