Sep 29 2009 - 3:26pm For many, celebrating a birthday is synonymous with
cake and ice cream. Don't tell that to
Naomi Watts — the actress celebrated her 41st birthday on Monday by biking around New York City with her beau,
Liev Schreiber. I think it's OK to celebrate a little when the occasion arises, but I have also been known to start my birthday off with a bike ride with my man.

calories don't count on my birthday, but all my friends and family do and I tell them so!
1I always like to get a good workout in on my birthday and I usually celebrate by going out with my husband to see a movie or we go hiking together. Nothing too fancy, really.
2Just do my whatever is on my training schedule
3Usually, I end up celebrating my birthday for the entire month. This is because all my family and friends have different schedules, and they get together with me at different times throughout my birthday month to celebrate my birthday. It's fun, really. Typically, we dine out, go shopping, catch a show, etc. I love it.
4I indulge my exercise routine, so if I want to spend extra time in the gym, I do it!
5Chuck E Cheese. Every year.
6I don't celebrate my birthday so I just stick to a normal schedule to keep everything in line for me. It's the way I like it

7For the last couple of years, while I've been struggling with an eating disorder, I've had a fairly miserable birthday, despite the best efforts of my family to make it wonderful. Refusing to eat even a bite of cake that my mum made for me is only the beginning. I'm still struggling, but I'm determined to have a proper birthday for my next one. I'm eating my damn cake! It's ridiculous to feel like you can't have a small piece of your own birthday cake. I can't believe how disordered my thinking got when I finally managed to start losing weight. I strongly believe in a healthy daily diet, but I also know from first-hand experience that constant deprivation and self-flagellation utterly wrecks your mental health. Everyone should eat their cake!
8I like to indulge on my birthday, but I make sure that they're "good" indulgences - for example, my mother makes ah-mazinggggg flourless chocolate cake, so I'd rather have that (and french toast or a croissant at breakfast) than some junky pizza or cheetos or something.
9I work out like normal, if I'm feeling up for it I may take a longer run. I'll also go and hang out with friends. I still watch my food like normal on my birthday, I haven't had birthday cake in 7 years! I may have a good dark beer with friends though...my Bday is in december, so I've often had Blue Moon's Winter Ale.
10I ran 10 miles on my last Birthday, then followed by a nice breakfast.
11On my last birthday, my boyfriend bought me my fave ice cream cake and I ate it slowly for 2 weeks. I loved it and he's so happy I did. It didn't ruin my diet at all. I think its sad if you deprive yourself of your own birthday cake. I workout as usual and didn't change the rest of my diet much so I can eat that delicious cake. Don't worry too much, its okay to eat. Just don't stuff yourself silly (which happens when you deprive yourself too much)
12Now that I'm over 18 I get stupidly drunk and go out for Indian food!
13So totally bad for me.
Dinner out with family and ice cream cake make for a perfect birthday for me.
14I always go to the mountains and ski with my family for my birthday. Followed by some comfort food and some red wine.
15for my birthday, i usually overindulge and give myself a break!
16Last year I celebrated my birthday with my first 10K and this year I'm running a 5 mile race the morning of my birthday!
17You know, I treat my b-day like any other day: I get up at my regular time (between 7 & 9)... go right to the gym after eating a delicious breakfast... and then take on the days events after completing my 2 hours of exercise!
