It's always good to have some healthy snacks you can keep in your purse, gym bag, or desk drawer, just in case you need a little something to keep you going. I'm a fan of bars made with fruit and nuts, because they contain fiber and protein to keep me full, but they also satisfy my sweet tooth. I've already raved about KIND bars, and this company just came out with a new line of bars called KIND plus.

I'm a fan of energy bars for pre- or post-workout snacks, but with this whole peanut butter salmonella scare, it worries me that some of my favorite bars have been recalled. If you've been a little nervous too, then you'll love YouBar.com. You choose the ingredients to build your own energy bar, so you know it's safe and a mix of all your favorite ingredients.

Drug Warning
Chemotherapy can cause anemia, a drop in red blood cell (hemoglobin) levels. Erythropoiesis-stimulating drugs, which boost the production of red blood cells, are administered to counteract this complication. However, these drugs, including epoietin alfa (Epogen, Procrit) and darbepoietin alfa (Aranesp), can also cause serious side effects and adversely affect survival when hemoglobin levels are raised too high.

Walking through the health food store, I am always looking for new snacks to try. I look for ones that have few ingredients, so when I came upon KIND Fruit + Nut Bars, and I could see the whole nuts and pieces of dried fruit, I had to pick some up.
There are tons of flavors to choose from like Macadamia & Apricot, Walnut & Date, and Banana & Oat Bran.

Whether you have kids or not, I think you'll want to know about the Clif ZBaR. OK, so they're made for kids, but that doesn't mean someone over 30 can't enjoy one as well.
These bars are sweet and chewy and drizzled with chocolate, and are a great alternative to a candy bar.

Energy bars are a wonderful and convenient snack - they are all packed up and ready to go. Plus their shelf life is long, so you can keep them in your glove compartment for emergencies of all kinds.
They are way better for you than a Snickers or a "drive-thru (Taco Bell) repellent" (such a great phrase yamahamama).
