I thought I'd seen it all when it comes to going green, but Converse has since proven me wrong.
Your good ole' Chuck Taylors are going green, literally. The hemp slip on Chuck Taylor ($62) by Converse is quite possibly the maker's only eco-friendly shoe.

We protect our feet with sneakers so why not protect your precious iPod with sneakers as well?
This cute little case has sewn-in screen protection, a slim belt clip on the back, as well as a sturdy canvas and rubber design. I have two favorite things about this case -- The first is that it looks like my all-time favorite Chuck Taylor Converse sneakers.

Environmental microbiologist Chuck Gerba studies the spread of viruses and parasites, and he made an interesting discovery about bathroom hygiene. Gerba found that every time you flush the toilet, your toothbrush gets sprayed with bacteria. Eww!

Food expiration can come with some surprisingly tricky time guidelines. While packaged food often comes with a stamped date to follow, I frequently discover the dates have disappeared and can only decipher a couple of digits. Take the guessing game out of the picture (and avoid getting sick from food that's unsafe to eat) by getting in the habit of labeling your food.

When the temperature drops, I crave soup. Since I don't always have time to whip up a pot of soup, I tend to keep cans of Amy's Soups on hand. I love that they're made solely of veggies, herbs, and spices.

This new Spring weather is so refreshing that I felt inspired to go outside yesterday and do some yard work. While I was raking up dead grass and leaves, I inhaled something and had a crazy allergy attack. My eyes were itchy and I was sneezing like crazy.

Spring weather makes me want to go for a long hike with the entire family, and that means our dog, Bonnie, comes along, too. It's important to pack water, snacks, and extra layers for everyone, but since my daughters are young, they get tired carrying anything for too long. So I've been thinking about putting Bonnie to work.

I'm really bad with throwing things away, it is definitely a direct result of my parents branding my brain with the idea that wasting is bad. Now older, I agree, but there comes a point where health is involved. I was thrilled to come across these guidelines from MSNBC.com on when it's time to chuck the ground chuck that's been in your freezer for years:
- FRIDGE:
- Milk should always be put on a shelf and never on the door.
- Eggs should be stored in the container they came in.
