Mar 15 2010 - 3:30pm Since suffering from an eating disorder in her 20s, Kara DioGuardi has come a long way. With Paula Abdul gone, she is the current Queen Bee on American Idol; she also has an accomplished career as a songwriter and music producer. And at 38, she looks damn good — something she shared with the world during the series finale of American Idol last year.
I feel bad because I'm sure she's a good person, but I don't like her because I feel like she was used to push Paula out. I'm sure that's not true but I just cant warm up to her.
But these are good tips and eating habits.
The onstage Bikini Girl thing is weird. She is a successful, talented, accomplished woman...why would she feel the need to strip down to compete with some twit? It kind of makes me feel sad
inside ... I don't see the humor in it. It's great that she has a rockin bod and works hard for it, but it perplexes me should want to reduce herself to that when her other accomplishments in
her field are so much more impressive. I would never walk into court and take my clothes off. It's just weird.
Kara is horrid. When she ripped off her dress, my feelings for her went from annoyance to anger. Paula's been absolutely tiny since day 1 and always had more class than to strip in front of
millions.
More importantly though, as a judge, she constantly praises people for their "story" and "star power" and I rarely agree with her.. she pushes through these contestants that won't sell any
records because they're not amazing SINGERS.
I'd never heard of Kara DioGuardi before I saw her on American Idol (and to be honest, I don't watch Idol that much either; and I'm not American, so I'm not sure how high profile she is in
the music business), but Paula Abdul used to make me so uncomfortable with her strange behaviour and comments that I was always surprised she lasted as long on the show as she did.
What caught my eye, though, was the cover of Women's Health, where almost every cover story is related to weight. And the one that isn't is related to sex. That seems to be the prevailing
trend of health magazines and it's kind of annoying. There *is* more to health than weight and sex.
Regarding the bikini incident, if you read the article, she had adamantly opposed stripping down to a bikini but was basically told by the show's producers that she had to, so she acquiesced
at the last minute. So it wasn't like it was HER idea to strip down in front of millions.
On a different note, it's good to see someone bringing awareness to binge eating because I feel like articles on eating disorders usually focus on under-eating.
Chloe Bella ... I think that makes worse. And I don't quite buy it. I am not so sure that firing a female host because she wouldn't take her clothes of on national TV when it was in no way
related to her employment per her original contract would be the best legal move for AI producers.

Good for her! It's good to hear about women with eating disorders discuss how they overcame them and are now living a healthy lifestyle. Go Kara!!
