The weather is beginning to cool off, so you may not be as motivated to slip on your sneaks and exercise outside. That's OK because you can get a great workout at home. For a 130-pound woman, these indoor activities burn about 100 calories.

Often times we, as women, tend to focus on the negative especially when it comes to our bodies. We can talk ourselves down with negative self-talk - ohh those little internal demons are so critical. In an effort to help end this movement and help women start talking nicer to themselves, Glamour.com has created a cute list of ten things you should definitely say to yourself more often:
Less is not more, baby.
I will love my flaws, if not for me, then for my extremely impressionable daughter/little sister/niece.
Walk away slowly so everyone can enjoy the view.
It’s clothes’ job to fit my body, not the other way around.
Don’t turn down chocolate!

At first, the Power Plate seems like another gimmicky weight-loss product, but its website features endorsements from fit celebs like Madonna, Courteney Cox, and Hilary Swank. On top of that, it's used by over 60 college and pro sports teams, and the Police brought one with them on their reunion tour. That's some serious celeb street cred.

I'm a huge fan of The Office, mostly because I've loved following the romance between the adorable receptionist Pam and her co-worker, now husband, Jim Halpert. Check out the cover of the November issue of Shape to see that Jenna Fischer, who plays the down-to-earth Pam, is smokin' hot once she takes off her cardigan and pearls. This wasn't always the case though.

Luna, maker of the sports bar for women's nutritional needs and super stylin' biking gear, also dabbles in the arts. Every October to coordinate with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, for the past nine years Luna has put on Lunafest, a festival of short films, by, for, and about women; the proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Fund.
Last night I was lucky enough to attend the premiere here in San Francisco.

While I frequent my gym, I do feel that despite my friendliness with all the staffers, in the end I am still just a paying customer. So when I came across a rather humorous article on the ten things your gym won't tell you, I just had to share.
Here they are (in no particular order):
- "If you're still here in April, it'll be a miracle."
- "Don't touch anything -- this place is crawling with bacteria."
- "We're not equipped to handle health emergencies."
- "Our trainers don't know what they're doing."
- "We won't let you quit."
- "Be sure to read the fine print on our contract."
- "Our equipment can be downright dangerous."
- "Everything is negotiable."
- "Go ahead and sue; you'll never win."
The full article offers more explanation, so check it out at msn.com.

As of late, West Nile Virus was the only virus we worried about here in the States that could be contracted by mosquito bites, but it looks like there's a new virus that could be flying our way — Chikungunya. The mouthful of a virus has spread across Africa, India, the French Island of Reunion, and there have also been cases found in Italy and France since 2005. Health officials are worried that this virus will soon infect those living in Europe and the US.

Gabrielle Reece is a fitness idol of mine, and I was lucky enough to speak to her about fitness and motherhood recently. I thought she was cool before, but now I wish she could be my new BFF.
Needless to say, Gabby is a busy lady, and many of you were curious about how she fits fitness into her daily routine.
