Add a Touch of Sparkle to Your Sunday Brunch Style

Sweatpants and a hoodie may be acceptable for a Sunday breakfast on campus, but if you're hitting a sidewalk cafe or an all-grown-up gathering at a friend's loft, you'll want to enjoy those eggs benedict with an order of glam on the side.

Sweatpants and a hoodie may be acceptable for a Sunday breakfast on campus, but if you're hitting a sidewalk cafe or an all-grown-up gathering at a friend's loft, you'll want to enjoy those eggs benedict with an order of glam on the side. Still a little worn out from the night before? Brighten up with a clean white clothing palette and just a touch of silver shimmer for a distinctive daytime look.

Take a shine to this ensemble idea:

The Top
Cotton V-necks are for sleeping — maybe the gym. Step out in style with a silk blouse that's both easy and elegant.

The Pants
Lose the workout wear. White skinny jeans are a fresh, fabulous morning or midday look.

The Shoes
Silver sandals are just the spark your outfit needs. A flat heel is appropriately casual, ankle straps add a hint of sexy, and the metallic sheen turns up the glam factor.

The Accessories
Cat-eye sunnies are the perfect way to look pulled together. Try topping off the outfit with a collar necklace for head-to-toe sparkle.

The Drink
Try the new Red Bull Silver Edition. With the same high-quality ingredients as Red Bull Energy Drink in a refreshing lime taste, it vitalizes body and mind® whether you're just starting the day or whenever you need a pick-me-up.

What to Wear For a Red-Hot Date Night

It's the color of love, it's the color of passion — so it's no surprise red should be the color of choice for a special night out with your man.

It's the color of love, it's the color of passion — so it's no surprise red should be the color of choice for a special night out with your man. To really get his pulse racing, try combining bold colors and prints with subtle details for a look that says you're fired up for romance . . . but playfully hard to get.

Consider this ensemble idea:

The Dress
There's a reason they write songs about women in red: the color equals instant attraction. Think classy, not flashy, by balancing the hue with a conservative yet seductive cut, like an of-the-moment peplum dress that flatters your feminine curves.

The Shoes
Nude-colored pumps keep the focus on the dress but take things up a notch with an ultrahigh heel and platform.

The Accessories
Look for one simple, yet sexy piece of jewelry, like a chunky gold bracelet or cuff. Don't be afraid to show him your wild side with a touchable, pony-hair clutch in a daring animal print.

The Drink
Try the new Red Bull Red Edition. With the same high-quality ingredients as Red Bull Energy Drink in a sweet cranberry flavor, it vitalizes body and mind® before your red-hot date or whenever you need a pick-me-up.

Try a new take on bohemian with this ensemble idea:

The Top
A crocheted white cotton tunic is the perfect cover-up for day under the sun. For a more daring look, try a lacy black bralet underneath instead of an ordinary bikini top.

The Shoes
Grecian is timeless, so complement that gorgeous tunic with classic T-strap sandals that are always fashionably in-step.

The Accessories
Add some interest to your look with a necklace. This one even gives the illusion that you layered different necklaces.

The Drink
Try the new Red Bull Blue Edition. With the same high-quality ingredients as Red Bull Energy Drink in a sweet blueberry flavor, it vitalizes body and mind® whether you're rocking out to your favorite tunes or you need a pick-me-up.

[UPDATED] Why Felix Baumgartner's High-Altitude Jump Is Breathtaking

UPDATE: After high winds at the Roswell, NM jump site sidelined Felix Baumgartner's high-altitude jump from the edges of Earth, the jump is set again for Sunday, Oct. 14 at 5 a.m PDT/8 a.m. EDT.

Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner is about to make a record-breaking jump from the edge of . . . space. After taking a stratospheric balloon flight to more than 120,000 feet in the air, Felix is set to take the plunge this morning at 10 a.m. PDT/1 p.m. EDT and become the first man to break the speed of sound in free fall, reaching an estimated 690 miles per hour.

To put things into perspective, spy planes climb up to only 85,000 feet in the air, and Felix will travel far beyond that. He'll be in free fall for over five minutes (!) and test the limits of the human body breaking the speed of sound. Since he will be the first to do so, there's a lot on the line. But Felix is testing a new space suit designed to withstand extreme conditions and a new parachute to break his fall — not to mention gather valuable medical and scientific data along the way.

Track Felix's progress and watch his historic flight at the Red Bull Stratos live YouTube stream.

Should Parenting Require Education, Licensing Like Driving?

The news is filled with stories of parenting gone awry — this is just the most recent story that grabbed my attention.

The news is filled with stories of parenting gone awry — this is just the most recent story that grabbed my attention. A school in Oregon has just had to send a letter home to parents asking them not to allow their children to drink energy drinks (Red Bull, Rock Star and the like) at school!

The teachers say they've seen kids drink as many as five cans of the potent elixer per day resulting in, as you can imagine, unruly behavior, caffeine crashes, and addled attention-spans.

If we're to the point where a school has to dictate to parents how to provide proper food and drink to their children, should we be offering and requiring education before people become parents? Before someone is charged with caring for a life — which is arguable akin in responsibility to driving a car — should we require similar levels of education and testing? Would a government-issued license to dad (or mom) help give kids a better start?

Low on Energy? More Tips to Try...

Sometimes we just feel tired all the time or just a little low on fuel.

Sometimes we just feel tired all the time or just a little low on fuel. There are so many reasons you could be feeling like this (hormonal change, lack in sleep, stress, etc.) and you're not alone.

So instead of turning to a Red Bull or agonizing over the fact that you have no energy, here are more tips from RealBuzz.com on giving your energy a boost:

  • Join a gym or try to start some sort of structured physical activity that gets you training about three times a week. Ideally this is on top of your 30 minutes of daily activity.
  • Dedicate just a few minutes a day to doing some stretches. If your job involves sitting, using a computer or involves repetitive movements, muscles will tighten very quickly and this is often the cause of lower-back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain and more.
  • Sit down and examine your work load. It could be the case you are trying to do more than you are capable of in terms of private life and work life.
  • Appreciate any stress you are under and try to have time periods where you are not carrying problems around with you constantly. This is another advantage of the gym; for that couple of hours you don’t think about work related problems.

Dear FitSugar,
Hi Fitsugar, I really love energy drinks especially Red Bull, but I have no clue what is really in it or how many calories it has. I was wondering if you could give me the calorie breakdown of Red Bull and Sugar Free Red Bull (yummm) so I will know if I need to kick my habit to the curb! Thanks.
— Red Bull Betty

Well, Red Bull Betty, I do not think you are alone in your Red Bull "addiction."

Let's start with the caloric content: one 8.3 ounce can of
regular Red Bull contains 110 calories and 27 grams of sugar (that is almost 2 tablespoons of sugar). Red Bull Sugar Free contains only 10 calories and is sweetened with aspartame.

Here's a little info from Wired on the key energy producing ingredients of Red Bull.

Taurine was originally isolated from bull bile in 1827 (hence the name of the drink), but fortunately it is now made synthetically. Taurine's actual effects are wide-ranging - it is an inhibitory neurotransmitter (in some cases acting as a mild sedative), an age-defying antioxidant, and has the potential to steady irregular heartbeats.

Happy Hour: Fruji

I've admitted it before, and I'll admit it again, I'm not really a fancy-drink kind of girl.

I've admitted it before, and I'll admit it again, I'm not really a fancy-drink kind of girl. All I need is vodka and tonic and I'm set. However, with that said, I'm trying to expand my drink options and so I always love checking out different recipes online. I found this one over in the Let's Have a Drink group. It's called a Fruji and it was posted by TeamSugar member Shiloh Jolie Pitt. She likes it because it tastes like a pineapple ice block found in New Zealand. Tastes like pineapple and contains vodka? Count me in! To check out the recipe, read more
