Which Fall Sport Leads to the Most Injuries?

I love playing Fall sports just as much as I love watching them. As much fun as they are, Fall sports can be a little dangerous. Even a fun game of flag football can lead to some serious bumps and bruises.

Fall sports are a fabulous way for anyone to exercise and enjoy the seasonal change, especially children. However, because children's bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons are still growing, they are more susceptible to injury than adults.

So before you sign your child up for his/her sport this Fall, find out which Fall sport leads to the most injuries in kids.

I've actually read that it's soccer that causes the most injuries for children - specifically knee injuries.

both of my brothers play football... my older brother played in college too and the only injury he had... from football was a concussion... plus now you can get helmets that are custom fitted to reduce the chance of a concussion, and as always proper conditioning, and technique help reduce injury

I got hit under the chin with a field hockey mallet when I played and it cracked my chin! Needless to say, I have a lot of jaw problems now!

are these numbers per number of kids... because probably more kids play certain sports so are capable of getting hurt more...

I got it right, but I was tempted to pick cheerleading, because you always hear about these freakish accidents associated with it. I guess it's partially freakish because severe injuries in the sport are less common? I don't know, but I picked football!

I thought for sure cheerleading since my best friend in high school was a cheerleader and was always getting hurt. Then again, she was the girl that always got thrown up in the air and stuff because she was so tiny. She got dropped more times than one, but I guess football is pretty violent too.

I would think soccer would be up there as well. My sister sprained her ankle 2 times when she played in high school.
