I guess I haven't been paying enough attention to Carl's Jr.'s TV ads — I'm not exactly the target market. Although I knew they were occasionally offensive, I had no idea the fast-food chain had basically stopped selling hamburgers in favor of teaching douchebag lessons to millions of unsuspecting young men. Padma, get out while you can! Thank goodness we have Sarah Haskins to sort it all out.
Padma's New Gig as Carl's Jr. Spokeswoman
Following in the footsteps of Paris Hilton, Top Chef hostess, Padma Lakshmi, is the latest spokeswoman of Carl's Jr. Lakshmi appears in a new commercial that depicts her seductively eating a Western bacon hamburger.
Of the ad, Padma told People that it's "a beautiful love song to food. I think eating in itself is the act of great sensuality, so all you have to do is point the camera in the right direction." However, after watching a video of it, I'm not so sure if the words "beautiful" and "love song" are the best descriptors.

Speak Up: Should Slim Celebs Endorse Junk Food?

Naomi Campbell has been spotted shooting a commercial for Dunkin' Donuts in which she riffed on her anger-management issues. Naomi Campbell and Dunkin' Donuts- Now that's a match I didn't see coming. This reminds me of that Carl's Junior commercial in which Paris Hilton does a half naked strip tease washes the car. Another match I never would have guessed. So I am curious what you guys think about slim celebs endorsing products that aren't really going to keep us, the real people, slim (or healthy). Do you think a celeb should be able to endorse whatever they want even if they don't eat/buy/believe in the product they are endorsing? Or is it wrong for them to do so? Speak up and tell me what you think in the comments section below.
