Spring's Western-wear obsession carries on into the summer with our favorite low-heel ankle boots. Dress like an urban cowgirl by pairing low-rise boots with flirty floral dresses or cropped denim. The classic Cuban heel and subtle western accents make us giddy for the season's saloon girl look.
Oscar de la Renta embraced new technologies in his recent resort runway show, live-streaming the collection online and sending a handful of models out with iPads in neat leather covers tucked under their arms. The iPad clutches seen on Oscar's runway are available now and sold exclusively on the Oscar de la Renta website. We've also found chic iPad carrier alternatives in the budget-friendly category, namely a natural cork cover and Moleskine-style case, which are $27 and $50 respectively. For those of you still lugging around laptops, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Valextra make our favorite fashionable computer cases.
This fall, tough leather looks are given the grown-up treatment with ladylike cuts and polished silhouettes. Here we introduce you to the new season's perfect leather essentials—a slim pencil skirt from Thomas Wylde, a heart-shaped shoulder bag from Marc by Marc Jacobs, and the ubiquitous leather bomber turned into a sleek blazer and cropped jacket from Balmain and Alice by Alice Temperley, respectively.
No one clothing item more perfectly transitions your wardrobe into the colder months than a classic cape. Worn over a favorite pair of jeans or dressed up trousers, this is one silhouette that never goes out of style. Some of our favorites above from the fall collections, including more than a few by Stella McCartney, who does casual cool better than most.

Velvet—especially red and oxblood colored—was all over the New York runways for fall 2010. Alexander Wang draped the deep red fabric into asymmetric mini dresses with black lace detailing, Zac Posen used vampy reds for pleated bustier dresses and seventies style trouser suits, and Ralph Lauren kept it classic with velvet mutton sleeved tunics and floor-length evening gowns.

The military trend gets a softer look in the pre-fall collections with cozy cashmere dresses (Crumpet), cotton corset tops (Elizabeth and James), and draped jersey dresses (Catherine Malandrino) that mix well in spring's utilitarian uniform. Hold on to last season's army jackets and cargo pants and sprinkle in some playful new looks like Prada's pre-fall camouflage jacket.
Some of the most memorable looks to hit the international runways this month were detailed in all kinds and colors of fur—a white mongolian lamb cuff here, an orange-splashed fox fur miniskirt there—and of our favorite handbags and shoes of the season followed suit. Think Michael Kors' soft cross-body satchels, Karl Lagerfeld's Nanook of the North boots and matching chain-strap handbag for Chanel, and Thakoon's fur-trimmed open-toe booties.
