They say "clothes don't make the man," but I'll tell you, they really do make the workout. If I don't have my clothes just right, they'll annoy me the whole time and end up ruining my workout. My clothes have to be fitted in order to feel like I'm fully covered and can move freely. Baggy pants and t-shirts just make me feel frumpy and slow. That's just me though, what about you?

Always Fitted - I normally go for 2 forms of training everyday. I need to wear fitted clothes for my run and my bike class. I don't care so much on weight/machines. However, I will not come to the Y's just for the weights, that's why I wear fitted clothes all the time. I like singlets from Nike and UnderArmour. As for the bottoms - I like to wear runningskirts.
1It really depends how I'm feeling that day. I generally go pretty fitted, but there's nothing worse than having a "fat" day and feeling like your belly is hanging out during a workout.
2Fitted is best for the running, spinning, and yoga that I do!
3My style and comfort zone has changed over the years. Generally I stick to fitted unless I'm playing basketball in which case it's baggy shorts and a cut-off t-shirt always.
4Fitted, definitely. I think of loose clothes more as comfy, like sweats, which I prefer to lounge in afterwards.
5Fitted for sure. Especially during pilates and strength training. So I can make sure my form is correct. With a baggy tshirt and short I wouldn't be able to tell if my shoulders we pulled down, stomach in, etc. And with cardio, baggy=resistance.
6i guess if i looked like that girl on the left I would wear fitted too. Unfortunately I'm not there yet, so I don't like things too fitted. I mean I'm not wearing a mumu to the gym, but it's a little looser.
7Definitely fitted. It motivates me a little bit, to be honest. Although sometimes, like the other day (thank you PMS), I'll wear a longer or baggier top to conceal a little bloat.
Btw, is the girl on the right holding a cell phone up to her ear?
8oh average its loose because more of my workout clothes are sweats but seriously I wear whatevers clean.
9I usually wear fitted but it depends more on where I am... if I'm running in a place I feel safe and comfortable I can wear fitted no problem but if I'm running in a place where I don't really want to stick out I'll wear less fitted clothing
10Ditto, supercoolnat. On a "fat" day, it's sweats and a T-shirt no matter the activity. Normally I try to wear fitted for running or cycling. Weight training I'm more likely to grab something baggier because I hate it if my shirt rides up when I'm lifting.
11I generally seem to wear a looser (but not baggy) top and something fitted on the bottom. I hate feeling like I have to pull my shirt down while weight lifting or running. But then...the top on the left looks nice with those shorts. Hm.
12I wear fitted for yoga (because I hate it when my shirt falls in down dog and everyone can see up my shirt) or cycling, but tend to go looser for running or weight lifting.
13Fitted, though not as much as the girl in the photo. Usually it's a tank top or a slim-fitting T and this one pair of yoga pants that skims over my belly but isn't baggy.
Wearing slim-cut clothes makes me feel like I belong at the gym. I'm big enough that if I wore baggy clothes I would get some weird looks from the muscle-heads
14fitted for gym and loose for snowboard!
15I usually wear fitted clothes to work out in, only because I hate when my clothes hang on me and rub my skin. Plus, I usually incorporate jumping rope into my routine and you don't want floppiness when you're doing it. Plus, I think I look a lot more "fit" when I wear them.
16Mostly fitted/slim-cut, but some of my workout clothes are on the loose side, but not too loose. They may still be considered fitted/slim-cut by some though.
17Fitted pants with a loser tank top?
18I usually go fitted but I can't stand going outside in the cold in fitted pants (feels like I'm wearing nothing at all!) so I'll opt for sweats in that case. But usually, its fitted.
19I like fitted pretty much, which is not how I used to be when I first joined my gym about 30 pounds overweight. I wanted just baggy T's and baggy XL capris. Now that I've lost the weight and taken up running I've noticed that my baggy T's weigh me down so I switched to closer fitted wicking tops and I cannot stand my capris anymore. These bag and fall down on me when I run! I had to constantly stop and hitch then up and tie them ridiculously tight around my waist. So I'm switching to running shorts or closer fitting tights. I do have days when I feel self conscience though and try not to think about what celulite is showing or what might be jiggling around my leg area!
20I still have a bit of a belly so if I'm doing a workout like weights or where I have to bend over I do get a bit self conscience about it looking like it's poking out in my closer fitting tops.
I usually wear lose short shorts with a tight top or fitted yoga pants with a lose shirt or a bit lose yoga pants with a fitted tank top... so... im a mix, i suppose, but i always have something a bit fitted
21Loose for sure, if I'm doing yoga then fitted with loose over it. no one, esp. me wants to see my fat giggling while I exercise. (and even if someone did, I wouldn't want them looking at me "that way" at the gym - eew)
22i'm half and half. i like to wear baggier pants but a fitted tank top.
23fitted, but not skin-tight or skin-baring
sometimes i like running in baggy shirts
with them loosely tucked into my running short.
i see a lotta cute gals at my gym wearing short shorts like in the picture, or even shorter, or tights-looking pants and they look great... until they start crunching away or are running. the cellulite starts making itself known and the bottom of their butts jiggle below the shorts-line.
it even shows through tight pants!
not cute, and i feel bad that they don't know. def makes me paranoid about my own body & clothes bc i know i'm older than them.
24I tend to wear loose shorts and a loose t-shirt. I hate people looking at me when I work out so I prefer to just blend in. Not that I'm anything to look at, I just don't want the unwanted attention of my boobs or butt bouncing up and down.
25fitted always.. if the clothing is getting in the way of my workout then it's too much of a distraction so I keep it simple and stay with fitted workout clothes.
26When every day is a 'fat' day, it's just better to not wear fitted. *nods*
I wish we had more options for work out clothing though. Most plus-sized exercise clothes are full of bling, feathers or made of some weird fuzzy material.
If I find an outfit that looks decent, then it's either poor quality or made for the body shape of a size 6 person; they just enlarged the same pattern, which obviously would not fit me comfortably.
So far I've lost 70 pounds, so now I can shop in more 'normal' stores. But still, the larger workout clothing is just cheap spandex with sparkles!
27I think I do both. I usually wear loose track pants or yoga pants and then I wear a tight, fitted top. My pants aren't baggy, they are my size so I don't know if that makes them fitted, but they are not skin tight.
28I always feel faster in fitted gear
29It depends alot on the activity but mostly I wear tight tops and looser pants.
30i actually wear men's pants...and a t-shirt. baggy...but i've always been one to hide my body. one day i'll be brave and actually buy clothes that are fitted. it would prolly be better...sometimes my shirt or pants get caught up on the machines.
31No baggies.
32Fat days = baggy/ layers
33Skinny days = shorts/ fitted
