Which Was the Craziest Recall of 2007?

2007 was definitely a year for recalls. From bagged lettuce to endless amounts of beef, you name it and most likely it was recalled. Since we are asking you to pick the best of 2007 . . .

the pet was the defintly the worst it was hard finding a safe brand. Apologies to all those who lost their pets.

Toys and baby food really. Toys we had a lot of the ones that got recalled. When I found out about the Veggie booty I was actually feeding it to my son at the exact moment I got a call from a friend because I don't have tv.

what about spinach! I love to hate it and the recall gave me a great excuse to go back to my plain iceburg salads...

the Pet Food, such helpless creatures and we are supposed to take care of them! I knew many who had pets who died, and i feel for anyone who did.

The pet food recall didn't affect me directly, but it sure made me a paranoid wreck. I go to GREAT lengths to ensure everything is the best for my cats, and to think that I can't even trust that anymore... :( But I think the craziest was the toys! Food, we've come to expect, but TOYS? If pet food affects me the way it does, I can only imagine how every mother out there must feel.

I know you didn't cover it on FitSugar but just the other day Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) - probably Canada's largest outdoor equipment store - pulled all of the hard Nalgene bottle of its shelves, citing recent health concerns. I recently posted about it on my blog because frankly it scared the living daylights out of me: http://tobethewholepackage.blogspot.com/2007/12/what-do-you-mean-i-cant-drink-water-in.html It seemed a cruel cruel irony that those that are trying to be healthful have to suffer potentially devastating consequences from their reusable bottle choice.

the pet food recall was craziest to me. it's just insane how many things were caught this year. makes you wonder how many things were missed in the past!

The pet food one was horrible...I felt so bad for the people who's pets got sick and even died from eating tainted food. So so sad. The one that affected me was the contact lense recall. I used to use ReNu products. Not anymore!

The pet food recall was terrible. I have friends that lost their pets to it. Cuba has been on raw since I brought him home from the vet and the only crunchies he gets is from Innouva or Evo.

I lost my kitty brother, from the cat food recall and my mom got it from the vet, it is terrible, I'll never be the same, meow.

oh my gosh aschwebb! I'm so sorry to hear about your doggie! I totally think that was the worst recall. It was SOO Stressful, constantly trying to make sure Bop' food was okay. On a side note, his food wasn't recalled (wellness) it's awesome, try it out

All I know is that there is a new one every other day. Its so crazy to me that these items were not tested before being put on the shelves I mean really what is the purpose of all the government agencies anyway?
