What's the Most Expensive Piece of Fitness Gear You Own?

I know we are not supposed to love material possessions, but right now I am carrying on a hot and steamy affair with my new road bike.

I mean hot and steamy as in burning up the calories and sweating profusely — and it's wonderful. Yep, I took the plunge and upgraded from my 10-year-old hybrid to a sweet ride by Specialized. I paid a pretty penny, but I know this relationship is going to last. My bike is by far the most expensive piece of fitness gear I own. What about you?

Fit, I am drooling over that bike!! I would love to get a new bike, I'm thinking mountain than road, and was saving some for it and the wedding but hello unexpected emergency and there goes my $$. Grrr. Wish bikes weren't so expensive. Hmm... the most expensive gear I own? Um.... my waterproof Timex heart rate monitor which just freaking broke over the weekend in the pool!! Water somehow got in it and bam, messed with it. :( Other than that, perhaps my collection of workout dvds.

Kayak. I went in on it with 2 other friends and we take turns with it. After that, I would say my x-country skis.

Allytta --- call Garmin! my 205 started acting up, and I sent it back to them... an they sent me a refurbished one that works beautfilly. they are a great company!

The most expensive piece of fitness equipment I own is my elliptical trainer. I bought it a few months ago, was broke for the next few months! But its the best investment I made. Not only do I get a full body workout, i get to excersise in the comfort of my own appartment.

Hmm. I can't remember which costs more...either my bike or my Garmin.

Probably my elliptical machine, but I really want a Precor elliptical (they are over $3000 for certain models). Maybe when mine dies, I'll replace it with a Precor...that would be so cool!
My full suspension mountain bike (it's a Trek too!) is by faaaaar the most expensive piece of fitness equipment I've ever own. Try to take it out for a ride as often as I can and get value for my money, though. I love the damn thing!

I would say my skiing equipment, way too much money invested in that, but I haven't used them in about 3 years. So out of the equipment I actually use, it is my running shoes. Or my gym membership.

In aggregate, my lululemon workout clothes :) Going by one piece alone, my Garmin forerunner GPS watch. SO handy though!
My road bike. I bought a trek 1.2 WSD in April, and besides being the most expensive piece of exercise equipment I own, it is def my favorite purchase i've ever made.

syako — I think the Trek Madrone WSD are great bikes, but the Ruby Comp was on sale at a bike store 1/2 mile from my house. Just had it fitted and am rearing to go!

Definitely my Bike - I got it 10 years ago - around 1000 for my first Danskin Triathlon. And since then, I have upgrade diff components.

My bike! It's the first bike I've had since I was 10 years old, and I'm loving it. I rode 12 miles yesterday. My iPod comes in at a close second, though.

oh, my... she's BEAUTIFUL, fit ! My tri bike - at $1100 - is my most expensive piece of gear.. but the Ironman itself is getting quite pricey (plane tickets to cozumel, hotel, race entry fee at $550, shipping my bike, nutrition, food, gear, etc.)

our treadmill, but we're going to be getting rid of it soon.. it's served it's purpose (got my butt off the couch and got into fitness), I don't need it anymore, so I figured it can find a new loving home ;-)

Loves it Fit! I see you didn't go for that Trek after all. I got a road bike a month ago and it's by far the most expensive piece of fitness gear. But like you, it's worth it and it will definitely last!
