Buyer Beware: Shady Weight-Loss Products
Putting in the miles on the treadmill, skipping dessert, passing over potato chips — none of these are easy tasks, but they are surefire ways to shape up and lose weight. It's easy to crave the magic pill that helps us shed pounds while watching TV, but there really is no such thing. Our collective desire for easy fitness is strong and many manufacturers prey on it. Yeah, those sauna suits and personal saunas are kind of a joke. I don't get how they figure you burn 600 calories in 15 minutes...do they weigh people before and after and claim that if they lost 1/2 a lb in 15 minutes, it must mean you burned 600 calories? You just sweated out 1/2 lb of water; there's no actual fat loss.
