Two years ago, Victoria Beckham didn't find working out so posh and admitted that she didn't like to sweat. My how things have changed.

A member of the swanky gym Sports Club LA in Beverly Hills, it is reported that Posh works out six days a week. Aside from running eight miles a day on a treadmill, she has experimented with Pilates and spinning. A far cry from her complaints about the pain-in-her-small-bum cycling caused when she tried it a couple of years ago in Spain.
After acclimating to sweating, working out has increased Victoria's metabolism so the "naturally thin woman" can now enjoy eating. Aside from bringing food to her life, working out makes her feel "energized and healthy." For extra exercise motivation her husband loads her iPod with tunes. I guess Posh and I do have something in common: I, too, work out to increase my energy, improve my health, and allow me to eat just about anything I want. How about you?

How can you run 8 miles per day and eat nothing??? About a year ago i was running 5 and only eating about 800 calories per day and that nearly killed me. I totally envy her discipline and drive.
1Ahh, I love working out so I can eat! If I work out, I don't have to worry about what I put in my mouth (still only healthy food, but in bigger quantities than if I don't work out). But I also love working out for the way it makes me feel - strong, accomplished, and happy. It's such an upper
28 miles a day 6 days a week is a really intense workout, she'd have to eat a lot to have energy to do that . . . i don't believe
3Ummm I don't think this article is very health oriented at all. Are we applauding the lady for doing too intense a workout? For being painfully thin? or for not eating?
4I could never be one of those waif-like women that relies on a diet of coffee and cigarettes to stay thin. I work out so I can enjoy my food and not feel guilty about it. Although, I still think Victoria Beckham is way too thin. If she's working out that intensely, she probably needs to eat a LOT more than she currently is.
5I work out to lose weight. It really doesn't make me any happier when I go walking...I guess I get more even, but if something is bothering me beforehand it will come back in full force right after the workout.
And she looks dangerously thin in that left pic. Do you *see* her collarbones?? She looked more normal in the ad...!!!! 8 miles a day on a treadmill, plus spinning and Pilates...seems like she's overdoing it.
6well, margo, some people do have naturally protruding collarbones...i do and i am NOWHERE near as thin as her.
BUT she is too skinny, agreed. 8 miles is crazy, and as for energy (to reply to CMD)...well its not like she has a real job or anything, so if she's tired she can just go nap. if i had her luxuries, i could pull it off, easily. i've read impressive stories on this blog about readers waking up at 4:30 or 5 am to work out before a full day of work. imagine you didn't have to commute or work?!
78 miles a day, 6 days a week?? She must be HOPEING for shin splints/stress fractures.
8uhmm yah I was doing 8 miles a day six days a week and almost killed myself while doing it. This is NOT healthy at all---please don't try this guys.
9wow, to claim that she NEVER regularly worked out and suddenly she's logging EIGHT miles a day RUNNING ? that is truly obsessive-compulsive drive that usually only comes from an eating disorder. what is wrong with this poor woman? nice to see she can workout so intensely and still hold onto that ummm...cleavage of hers.
10It was interesting for me to come across this post because right before I logged on I read an article about Victoria in a magazine that said she only runs 4 miles a day, and 4 or 5 days a week.
I always take celebrity workouts with a grain of salt. I think that it is almost always either being over or under exaggerated depending on which way the celebrity is trying to sway their image.
11also, everybody should learn to read -- she NOW eats whatever she wants because she is so active. when she wasn't exercising at all, she had a painfully regimented diet
12I'd go nuts doing that many miles indoors. She's probably fibbing, though. Her abs looked hollow, not cut, like you'd expect from Pilates.
138 miles a day? Insane!
14I applaud her willpower to work out like she does, but I think she is missing out on some things in her life, such as fun! While I do think being healthy is a good thing, I wonder if there was a way to where she could cut back on her workouts. Instead of running eight miles a day, why don't she take that time and walk in the park with her husband or kids, or dance around to her favorite tunes. Eventually I think she is going to get burnt out.
15life is too short for the treadmill (is that why its called tread mill ?)
16I love my treadmill.
17I too have a "painfully regimented diet" and I work out 5 days a week but it makes no difference to my metabolism, I really do feel hungry every single night but I used to be fat and just don't want to go back to being the fat girl. I wish i could eat more, sigh...
18Does nobody remember how she used to look in the spice girls?? She is NOT naturally thin, she has a serious eating/exercise compulsion problem and needs psychiatric help.
19I exercise 4-6 days a week and eat a pretty controlled diet (though I allow some spurlges, the majority of my days are extremely healthy) to try to maintain weight lost I had a few years ago. My body just wants to be fatter and I have to fight it with really good habits. Now with this lady, I just don't see it. I think she is going to extremes to maintain an unhealthy body weight and I just can't rally behind her for that.
20I could not live like that. I run about 3 miles a day, 5 days a week (or something like that, it depends on the week), and I eat whatever I want (within reason). To have a restricted diet and run that far is so unhealthy. I hope the poor woman gets help one of these days.
21It seems like too many people are responding with their biases, not to the content of the article. It says nothing about not eating or a strict diet. I agree with bellabunny that reports on celebrity exercise should be taken with a grain of salt, but either way, there's nothing wrong with 8 miles.
22I think that it's definitely important for everyone to work on personal health. I love going to the gym on a regular basis and I work out with a trainer once a week. It gives me so much energy and I really do feel good about myself.

I love how people say working out can allow them to eat "whatever they want". Working out can only burn so many calories. It ups your metabolism, but not the point that you can eat whatever you want. I would add "within reason" to that statement.
24it's cos she has no normal jobs like the rest of us do ++ catching a train/bus ++ cooking ++ cleaning ++ loooking for family/SO/kids ...
25we have no maids nor chaffeur waiting around the clock nor babysitters for each kid !
