Known for heading the ball into the goal, Abby Wambach plays forward. A broken leg forced the 32-year-old to miss the 2008 games after playing on the gold-winning team in 2004. She played for University of Florida, and at five feet, 11 inches, she's the tallest player on the American team. Her height advantage could be the secret behind all those headers.
Wambach has scored once in each of the four matches the team has played at the Olympics! Abby was punched in the eye in the game against Colombia and shared a pic of her shiner on Twitter. Look for her to lead the team in the semifinals against Canada.
