Flying can be one of the most stressful parts about the holiday season. Airplanes are hardly conducive to getting around and moving.
Use these tips before and during flying to get the most of your flight:
- Book a daytime arrival if possible. Once you arrive, do your best to drag yourself outside and do something active while it's still daylight — this should help you recover from jet lag much more quickly.
- Book an aisle seat and walk the length of the plane every hour to prevent back strain, loosen your muscles, and get blood circulating.
- It's no surprise that cabin air is super dry. To combat dehydration (which contributes to jet lag), drink a 16-oz. water before boarding. Then be sure to stay well hydrated in flight. I try to drink one small water bottle (airplane special size) every 30 minutes.

Flying is horrible.
1The best way to approach it, though, is to think positive about it. Most people are like "Ugggg flights! I hate flying, I hate this, I hate the food..etc". But be excited! The 4-5 hours to your detination is worth it!!!
I wish that was my biggest issue when on a plane. My ears feel like their bleeding for an hour at take off and an hour before landing, but I love going back home to my family and just traveling in general so the horrible pain is worth it in the end.
2I also try to make sure I get in a workout before, that way I am less fidgity.
3Ugh, I have to fly tomorrow with my dog in the cabin and I'm NOT excited about it. Truthfully, I just want to stay home. Airports are a huge hassle.
4I definitely agree on the water thing. Being a frequent flier myself, I learned quickly that being hydrated can make your flight a lot more comfortable.
5The water bit is the worst! Especially since you can't take your own now. I used to bring a huge bottle, but now I'm stuck with those little bottles, which aren't really so bad, or with just a small cup that disappears after two sips and is in danger of spilling every time that we go through turbulence.
6All true for sure!
7i am gg on an 18 hour flight in 2 weeks time and i dunno how to entertain myself!!!
8I need drugs to get on a plane!
