In honor of Skin Cancer Awareness Month, take a moment to see if you know the basics of sunscreen. Since we're all spending more time outside these days, it seem like a good idea to do a little review.

To answer the question about wearing make up and reapplying...I'm not an expert, but if I am outside in the sun all day (on the beach, hiking, etc), I'm usually not wearing a lot of makeup (sweating, going in the water, it doesn't really work that well with makeup). But if I am just running errands or spending a couple of hours outside, I don't usually reapply. I do think it is important to be prepared though. If you put your make up on in the morning, and are going to spend a couple of hours outside in the afternoon, it might be useful to have some makeup with SPF built in for easy reapplication before you go outside. I use mineral makeup, and it has SPF 15, and doesn't look too bad if you just brush another layer on before heading out.

Jen I wonder that too. I just make sure I use a min of spf15 in my daily moisturizer, try to wear a hat when outside for long periods of time, and getting uv protectant eye wear is important too!
Hi, I know this isn't related to this particular post, but just wondering if there were any kinds of fitness/nutrition "challenges" that work well that you could post. The type of thing where you can print off charts to keep track for each specific week to get in shape for summer or the like. I really need something like this and would be so thankful if you guys could post something like this! Thanks!!

Fit, I have a question. If you wear makeup, do you just not worry about reapplying every two hours on your face? Is it terrible to do so? Should you just keep washing off and reapplying all of it? It just seems like women get contradictory advice--wear sunscreen under your makeup, and yet somehow reapply every two hours.
