Now that colder weather is moving in, exercising outdoors may not be that appealing. Working out at the gym is great, but all those people sharing equipment means germ central. Plus, wouldn't it be nice to have your own home gym you could use whenever you wanted, and not have to drive to?

If there was no limit on the amount of money you could spend, what equipment would you buy to make your ideal home gym?

I have a home gym, but I'd love to pimp it out a little more. I'd kill for a Precor elliptical machine, a great stationary bike, and a really decent treadmill. I'd also like a bigger selection of freeweights and a cable machine.
1I also have a home gym and I totally agree about the Precor elliptical machine -- used one daily on vacation in Cozumel and loved it! I'd also like a Bosu.
2I use the TRX suspension training straps and they're awesome.
3I have an elliptical machine now (it's a New Balance, though), and most of the weights I need. I'd love a bosu, weight bench, step, cables, pull up bar, and kettlebells!
4A good treadmill. I'd love to have one at home, it's my favourite machine at the gym.
5I have no home gym but if I did I'd want to add a stair master, elliptical and an aerobic stepper to my current collection of free weights and yoga mat.
6Thought about buying the stepper this season but what I looked as was 80-100 bucks, ridiculous I think just to step on something.
Elliptical, SpinBike, Free Weights and Stand, Bench, Yoga Mat, Wall-Mounted TV, Basket for Towels, and a Brita.
I have had it pictured perfectly in my head for years. Now I just need the extra room!
7I get a good treadmill for me & a stationary bike for my husband.
8I have a spin bike, a total fitness/pilates machine, free weights, kettlebells, a pull-up bar and a pilates chair. I'm pretty set. If I needed anything, it would be more room to add a treadmill.
9I'm very happy with the gym I have now... I have every piece of equipment that I need (including a flat screen t.v) and I love the room that I have it in as it's huge. I can't think of one more thing I'd add to it.
10a personal gyn would be amazing to have! i would want a fancy treadmill and a spin bike.
11great treadmill would be great!Oh,it would make long winter evenings so much better....one downturn though...I live in NYC and it would occupy all my apartment...I would need to sleep in a bathroom:)))
12In my personal gym I want a treadmill, lots of free weights, a nice step bench and hard wood floors to step on in front of a tv. That's the basics. The extras I would love are: step mill and a bosu. I love the treadmill though. It's a must!
13could i just have a personal trainer who would bring everything with him?
14Treadmill, stair climber, circuit weight equipment, flat screen tv, free weights, yoga area. Yep, that would be my dream home gym
15Definitely a nice big plasma screen so I would never get bored!
16I'd have an elliptical, a treadmill and a stationary bike.
They would all have
bookrests.
17I dream of having my own gym. Mine would include:
A Swimming Pool
Precor Crossramp Elliptical
Treadmill
Stationary Bike
Free Weights
Weight Bench
Exercise Ball
Balance Board
Exercise Bands of different Tensions
And room to throw in a video and workout!
Just a few demands
18We have a home gym in our basement. We have exercise bands, free weights, exercise ball, bosu ball, balance board, yoga mat, yoga blocks and band, elliptical, treadmill, and a bowflex strength machine. I want to add kettlebells and a spinning bike, but I don't have the room for the spinning bike the way it's set up now. I also have a wall-mounted TV and DVD player to keep me entertained and to use for exercise DVDs to vary my routine. We accumulated this stuff in stages, so we didn't go out and spend all that money at once.
19I'm slowly working on turning my basement into a home gym. We have an elliptical, yoga mats, iron gym and free weights now. Plus a big screen tv, about 20 fitness dvds, and a cd player. Wish we had cable down in the basement or even got radio reception!
I'd love to add a treadmill, stamina ab/hyper bench (swear this tones my waist the best), an inversion table, some pilates equipment, a balance bar, a wall of mirrors, hard wood floors, a live-in personal trainer (ha), and a doggie daycare so I can be in downward dog without having a puppy laying under me giving me wet kisses. Oh and a massage table for my live-in massage therapist. You said unlimited amount of money right?
20I don't think I want a home gym...
21a high quality treadmill, a bench, an endless pool, a weight bar, a bosu, every fitness DVD I've ever wanted, a nice big open space, a big TV, and a stationary bike for my boyfriend. *sigh*
22Sound proof walls & a surround sound system. I'd like a lot of floor space to do cardio workouts w/ a trainer. I'd like to find out what gym equipment's out there right now that's new & innovative & works. I do the treadmill every day at my gym and I just don't know if that will spark my interest forever.
23Dream gym
24- Olympic size pool for laps (with underwater music system)
- treadmill
- elliptical
- free weights
- mats
- mirrored walls
- stationary bike
- TV with DVD player and DVR
I'd get a set of resistance bands
Bowflex Selecttech Dumbbells
NordicTrak TreadClimber
Bowflex Home Gym
Kettlebells
Stability ball
Hula hoops
...and somewhere to put all this stuff. Sure wouldn't be in my tiny NYC apartment.
