Motivation can be hard to come by and sometimes we have to resort to "tricks," just like the carrot on a stick dangling in front of the horse's nose. We develop personal reward systems, kind of like the Shoe Diet.
So I am wondering how you reward yourself - healthy or not. Let me know in the comments section below.

I like to drink a glass of wine as a reward...but that might just be a habit ya know. I havve a glass of wine when i get home. So maybe that is not a reward.
1Shop, shop, shop, shop!
2I will "allow" myself one "off diet" meal every once in a while, but always minding my portions while i do so.
Im also a huge fan of fashion as a reward, love the shoe diet idea!!!
3I reward myself with whatever it is I've been dying to do but haven't had time. It could be meeting with friends, going to that new restaurant or bar, taking a trip somewhere whatever motivates me. Plus taking take off from the monotony of life is a big reward, I'm happy when I get a break.
4Starbucks iced quad white mocha, soy, no whip.
5it's a $6 coffee, so i only get it if i've been good, or if my week has been bad.
Clothes of course. Everything I do has a goal in mind. Right now it's, if I run my 10 miles this week, I'll go get that new black and pink track suit i've been looking at.
6The week I quit smoking I bought myself a Coach purse because that's how much I was spending on cigarettes a year. I figured a dollar a day for a purse or $3+ a day for cigarettes, the purse was and is the better value.
7I have a few things I do such as once a week I have a day where I eat and drink whatever I want if moderation of course, every night I have a lovely piece of dark chocolate, and once a week I go over to the employee store (I work for Nike) and buy a new piece of workout gear.
8I actually don't know how to reward myself! I am trying to lose weight and I am also trying to save money, so anything that would really be a treat would break one of those things.
9to SassyRedhead, a good way to motivate yourself without sacrificing dieting sabotage or your wallet, would be going to Target and buying a new cute bathing suit or something. considering summer is coming up and we all need one soon, rewarding yourself by 1. buying yourself something cute, 2. showing off your new figure, and 3. not spending a whole lot on it (Target's bathing suits are like $20-30) will definitely be fun and rewarding
10If you have a Lucy store in your area hit their sale rack. The first markdown is always 50% and go down from there.
11I go on a "try-on" spree. I don't buy anything, just try on some fabulous items and prance like a peacock in front of the mirror. It always perks me up!
12I go shopping! And I treat myself to a little piece of dark chocolate.
13I think BeeMoney said it best
14SHOP.
shop for SURE
15Looks like retail rewards are pretty popular with everyone!
I'm the same way, especially clothes. What better way to show off your good work at keeping fit than with a flattering outfit?
16Haha almost everyone has said something retail-related! I gotta say, the first thing I thought of was every couple weeks I go to my favorite little Mexican restaurant for quesadillas and a margarita! A BIG ONE!!
The best things in life are free. The second best are expensive.
17I reward myself with a bit of guilt free indulgence. When I'm on track, then I enjoy, but in moderation.
18this is going to sound really weird but if i haven't been working out in awhile and i'm feeling gross i wear really uncute workout clothes. the more i work out, the more i add cuter pieces. like i just saw the post on the victoria secret workout pants...so cute. but i won't buy them until i lose three more pounds.
19This sounds silly, but because of my tall decaf skim white mocha no whip addiction and my trying to diet, I have decided that as long as i have exercised and eaten properly, i will reward myself with one every two weeks, on a Monday. Mondays suck anyway.

Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?
Hmm, I don't really reward myself anything for anything at all. I really need to get my life back on track.
21EAT fried food!
that's a reward that comes only rarely when
i diet. usually, i shop
22Not with junk food, that's for sure.. mostly shopping!
23in the summer, i picnic on the beach with my husband. in the winter, i take a bubble (with my husband)
