Six of the Most Fattening Ice Creams

I scream. You scream. Here are six of the most fattening ice creams to make you scream. Newsweek did the leg work, so all your leg work won't go to waste by over indulging in these fattening flavors. I know ice cream is fattening to begin with, but add in peanut butter, nuts, pretzels and fudgy bits and the caloric content goes sky high in some of our favorite flavors.

I don't like ice cream, or any frozen confections. I know that sounds crazy, but it's true. I like to slowly savor my desserts, and find that frozen desserts melt before I can finish it. Melted frozen desserts do not taste good.

Calli325 you have an awesome point there. Seeing as now I won't be able to stomach peanut butter chocolate ice cream anymore (at least not HD's...), fudgesicles are going to come in mad handy.

It's kind of unfair to blame the flavors, when really what makes the premium ice creams so fattening is their density. Cheaper ice creams have more air whipped into them, so for a 1/2 cup of, say, your local store brand, you are eating less ice cream than a 1/2 cup of Haagen Dazs or Ben & Jerry's. They also have more stabilizers in them so they can use less cream, so they're less fatty that way (though by volume more than weight). For what it's worth, Fudgesicles actually have a lot less fat and calories than either of the above options. Mmmm. Fudgesicles.
