Serena Williams has one of the most indomitable spirits in tennis history, and a new Gatorade commercial highlights this quality in one of the most moving ways possible.

Told through an old clip of Serena being interviewed as a child tennis star, the 72-second commercial focuses on Serena's incredible journey from the tennis courts of Compton, CA, to the courts of Wimbledon. The most powerful moment in the ad is when a reporter asks little Serena which tennis player she'd like to be, and Serena, with a giant smile on her face, responds, "Well, I'd like other people to be like me."

That answer could not be more perfect when you fast-forward to present day, where the fierce tennis champ is currently playing in the US Open, battling for her first calendar-year Grand Slam. If Serena wins the US Open, she will have won all four major tournaments in one season, joining only two other women who have done so in the past: Margaret Court in 1970 and Steffi Graf in 1988.

Although the 2015 season is arguably one of Serena's best, she hasn't gotten here without some past struggles — she suffered from depression in 2006 and took a six-month hiatus, before coming back to being the number one world tennis player. All eyes are on Serena as she continues to dominate at the US Open — but first, watch this must-see emotional clip.
