I'm' glad you did this. These kinds of cancers often go undetected because people don't know the symptoms and don't ask questions.
14/5. bad considering i knew the right answer and clicked the wrong one. bah.
thanks for posting this Fit. Ovarian cancer hits really close to home because of my aunt. She's going through chemo right now.
It sucks that the early symptoms mimic other non life threatening illnesses. Bloating? Period. Frequency to urinate? UTI. Abdominal/back pain? Worked out too hard. We ignore these symptoms until it's too late.
2Kinda pleasantly surprised that I got 5/5 on this one. This is all great information!
3Wow, I got them all.
Doesn't getting a routine pelvic exam help detect ovarian cancer? The doctor feel the ovaries, doesn't she or he?
4wow, I didn't realize that the symptoms were ones that are so "normal" and easily ignored. good to know.
55/5! I hate how the symptoms mimic other ailments...
6The symptoms are so vague and there is no way to know if you have it and I have a feeling that the doctor would dismiss it as something else.
7CNN ran an interview last year with the top doctor/researcher on ovarian cancer and her basic point was there were no real signs or clear symptoms of ovarian cancer. There is nothing a women can do to prevent this cancer if you are predestined to get it. To think that your pap is looking for ovarian cancer is to not understand or never ask why your having a pap smear. She said the reason its so deadly is by the time doctors figure out that you have it its advanced so far.
She was actually working a DNA test to look for a marker indicating the likelihood of this type of cancer or an oral test something to the affect. I found the whole interview very frightened. I just kind of looked down at myself like the woman in the photo like "what the hell".
8wow # 1 surprised me.
