Now that my baby is almost two weeks old, I'm starting to feel really great and am tempted every other hour to put on my gym shoes and head to the great outdoors! I have a huge desire to sweat, feel the wind on my face, and to make my lungs feel the burn . . . tempted but haven't made my move just yet. I am trying really hard to be mindful of my trusted doctors orders to take it easy for 4 weeks. I want to have more kids down the road, so I don't want to risk anything. Four weeks in the big scheme of things is nothing, right?
So baby steps it is and will be for a little while longer. I've started to move around and have been keeping busy in my own way. When Sundance is asleep I run around like crazy with my 1-year-old, Joey. We chase each other, have little dance parties, and he's served as my cute little 23-pound weight as I throw him around (safely!) and do some overhead lifts and some squats. He loves every minute of it and we both savor the time we have alone together.
I'm really just taking it very easy, letting my body heal and moving around enough to get the kinks out. And most of all, enjoying all of the quiet time at home with my two boys before I hit the road in August with the AVP tour.
