If Kristen Stewart needs any help kicking her nicotine habit, she can look to her New Moon costar Nikki Reed for advice. In the last few months, Reed has given herself a bit of a lifestyle makeover, thanks in large part, as she told People, to her relationship with Greek shipping heir (and Paris Hilton ex) Paris Latsis.
Reed and Latsis have officially been out as a couple since Summer, which was the perfect time for Latsis to introduce Reed to all the outdoor sports he loves. The pair spent the season hiking, windsurfing, and water skiing, and as a result, Reed says, the pounds started dropping.
Besides having tons of fun, Reed was so inspired by her boyfriend's love of the outdoors that she became motivated to get into better shape. First things first, she quit smoking. Now Reed hits the gym for two hours a day and says that being active has made her "much happier."
Last week I shared with you some ways that your relationship might be making you fat, but keep in mind that as with Reed, relationships can have positive effects on health. I personally am healthier now that I'm with a partner who likes being active as much as I do. He and I love riding bikes, climbing, and going on long hikes together. Do any of you credit your relationship for making you healthier?

Yes! I went through a phase in law school when I had pretty much stopped working out and I was living on fast food. My boyfriend, who was also in law school with me, went to the gym every single day and really encouraged me to be healthier. Now, we run a lot of 5Ks together and I even got him to do a half-marathon with me this fall.
1"and as a result, Reed says, the pounds started dropping."
YEAH ok, ALLL those extra pounds that fatty was carrying around before finally dropped off.
Again, give me a break.
2Ha, anonymous! No kidding. Plus 2 hours a day at the gym!? No thanks. I don't mind spending 45 minutes to an hour after work at the gym, but not everyday and not 2 freaking hours!
3Ha, when I met my husband I gained 10 pounds because I was convinced I could eat as much as he could, sadly I'm not 6'5 like he is.
That's awesome that she quite smoking though (and lost weight in the process), most people gain weight when they do that.
4Excuse me, anonymous #2, but did you maybe mean to post your ignorant fat-bashing nonsense on another article? I'm not seeing a "fatty" anywhere in this one.
5ahemm, i believe that was some sarcasm.
6Inadvertently, my husband has inspired me to be healthy. He is pretty sedentary and doesn't like to eat healthy, so I try to set a good example for him and try to convert him over to living a healthy lifestyle. And I like to look hot for him, so that's also a bit of motivation for me.
7I was going to comment on the two hours a day thing too - bugger than for a joke!
8It was sarcasm.
9I can't past the fact that she's dating a guy that's been with Paris Hilton. Blech.
10Yeah I could probably work out for 2 huors a day too IF I DIDNT WORK A NORMAL 8HR+ WORKDAY LIKE US NORMAL FOLK.
11Yeesh.
Stop hogging the endorphins, lady.
I work 8 hours and then workout for 2 hours everyday too. I get to work at 7 so I can get off at 4 and I am done by 6:30. I love being active and exercising, it is my passion in life and not at all a chore so I don't have a hard time fitting it in. I also workout with my boyfriend so it is time that we spend together so I look forward to it everyday.
12My bf is more sedentary than I am, but I have encouraged him to be more active & eat better, and we have both gotten healthier as a result. I have always exercised but now I am eating a lot more greens (salads & veggies) than I did before. He has lost about 20 lbs and looks fab.
13"it was sarcasm"
It's kind of hard to tell on this site sometimes, when you've got people saying such things in all seriousness all over it.
14my BF is Olympic swimmer, but I have never been in the pool with him. we go on hikes. just went on one today. we ride bikes (it was my idea, took 2 months of nagging for him to fix his bike). i don't really exercise and am overweight so he always reminds me to work out. he's super ripped and those something to keep in shape every single day
