Mindy Kaling's Newest Project Is Her Healthy Lifestyle

On the heels of the epic return of The Mindy Project [1], there's no better time to celebrate the healthy changes we've seen Mindy making to her everyday routine. In her recent Vogue interview [2], Mindy opened up: "There's a whole list of things I would probably change about myself. For example, I'm always trying to lose 15 pounds. But I never need to be skinny. I don't want to be skinny. I'm constantly in a state of self-improvement . . . but I don't beat myself up over it."

Trying Something New

Mindy showed off the entrance to her current workout of choice, referring to the boutique barre class as the "painful, pretty Pop Physique [5] lifestyle." Challenging sequences, light weights, lots of reps, and bumping music make this workout so popular among its loyal clientele.

It's (Really) All Good

Just this week, Mindy shared the details of her newest self-improvement project with all her Instagram followers. Pictured with Gwyneth's Paltrow's It's All Good, Mindy wrote that she's going to cook every recipe in this "excellent healthy and yummy cookbook." In addition to her kitchen adventures, Mindy plans on getting to her barre class, getting down to a nine-minute mile, and, our personal favorite, going on a hike with her former costar B.J. Novak [7] and "not complaining once."

Homemade Dressing

After sharing her It's All Good project on Instagram, Mindy showed off her first recipe the very same day — and it's one of our favorites too! She called Gwyneth's carrot-ginger salad dressing [10] "the BEST salad dressing I've ever tasted . . . now I want to like, eat salads."

A healthy homemade dressing is so much better than the sugar- and preservative-laden store-bought variety, so follow Mindy's lead, and try out these homemade salad dressings [11] instead.

Paying the Price

Using the appropriate hashtag #tucktucktuck (referring to the constant "tuck your pelvis" reminder you'll hear in Pop Physique classes), Mindy explained she was "paying the wrap party price" with her workout routine. There's no reason you can't get in on all the fun, especially when it comes to celebrating a milestone, but after an indulgent period, we love that Mindy is willing to put in the hours when it comes to working out!

Fill Up on the Good Stuff

We hate that she was feeling under the weather but love that in addition to meds and Emergen-C, Mindy chose to sip on a nutrient-rich green juice from Pressed Juicery [14].
