Michael Phelps makes history. Hey there, I'm Karli Bulnes. See the swimmer become the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time, and find out which other U.S. team got the gold in today's PopSugar Rush. Michael Phelps earned two more medals in London Tuesday, bringing his total count to 19, a new world record. FitSugar editor Lizzie Fuhr is here with all the important details. Hey, Lizzie. Hey, Karli. Talk to us about Michael's big win. So, Michael Phelps came in today with 17 medals under his belt. Wow. He was 1 shy away from tying the world record and 2 away from beating it. And he just had an awesome day in the pool, he first took home the silver in the 200m butterfly, and then later in the day he managed to win himself a gold in the 4 by 200 meter freestyle relay. So he's officially the all time world record holder for Olympic Medals.a pretty impressive feat. It is. And he's actually the all time record holder for gold medals as well. He is; it's incredible. What's even more amazing, he still has more to get. Right, so he has two more chances to compete for medals. He'll be in the 100 meter butterfly on Friday and the 4 by 100 medley relay on Saturday. so alright it was definitely Michael Phelp's day but let's talk about two other swimmers who are making headlines. Ryan Lochte his teammate and then Missy Franklin. Right, so Ryan Lochte took home on gold with Michael in the freestyle relay today which was great. He unfortunately didn't fair as well last night in his 200m free style. With the real story on the [xx] credit highlight is the "Missile Missy" Franklin, 17 year old girl, she took home her first individual Olympic win. Gold medal for a 100 meter backstroke. She was just absolutely adorable on camera and I know everyone loved watching her at home because I definitely loved seeing her take home that medal. It was really sweet and it was actually really emotional And meaningful to her. So she dedicated all her races to her home state of Colorado, in remembrance of, you know, the horrific events that happened in the movie theater at Aurora. I think it's such a testament to her maturity and her grace. And I just can't believe that she's only 17. I can't either, but on a lighter note, you know, she actually got the attention of the most famous teen in all of the world right now, right? Right, so Justin Bieber found out that Missy was a fan and actually tweeted out to her, "Heard Missy Franklin is the big fan. Congratulations on the gold. Much love." Very cool. All right. She was excited. Let's switch gears a little bit and talk gymnastics. But before we do, we want to give our viewers a warning. There are spoilers ahead. So if you are waiting to watch the event when it airs in your area, you may want to tune us out just about now. Got it? Alright, lets start with the women's gymnastics team Right, so the Fab Five definitely lived up to their name. They took home the gold medal for the team competition. It's the first time since 1996 that the US has received this title. Awesome day for team USA. Very cool. Each of the girls really had her moment to shine in all the events, but I can't help but be partial to Jordyn Wieber who got a little suit redemption with the gold medal after actually not qualifying in the all around finals. So that was really exciting to see. It was nice to see her smiling again. Yes absolutely. So the women took the gold and the men didn't fair as well, which is interesting because table needing after follow up of the runs, so what happened? Right, so unfortunatelly the men didn't fair as well, they had a few mess-ups on the pommel horse. Tried to come back with the bars but you know unfortunately it just didn't pan out the way that we had hoped. They placed fifth overall. Okay . But there is some good news, a lot of the men will have the opportunity to compete in individual events andall around. And also most of them are young enough that they'll have a chance to compete in the Olympics again in 2016 in Rio. Thanks for pointing out the silver lining with me. Sure. And we will continue to root for them of course. Thank you. Thanks, Karli.
