Newly married Mandy Moore knows that she is no longer 14 because she has the womanly hips to prove it. Although the maturing pop princess appreciates being a role model for women by representing a different, curvier look often under-represented in the media, Mandy admits she has a "love-hate relationship" with her hips.

Rather than focusing so much on her appearance — she has professionals to help her with all that — Moore works at living a healthy lifestyle. She eats a colorful array of foods, gets acupuncture, and avoids the Hollywood diet obsession.
She recently told People magazine:
"I appreciate when there are other women out there who are beautiful and aren't, you know, a pound. I feel lucky that I don't feel pressure . . . to have my whole life be controlled by whether I fit into a certain size."

Mandy doesn't deprive herself of foods she enjoys believing that it is just not worth it. Her food weaknesses include french fries, cookies, and anything containing peanut butter. When it comes to food and dieting she says, "To me it's about feeling good, feeling healthy." Amen to that!

amen.
1Love my hips (pear-shapey goodness,lol).
2Wish my middle was a little more whittled.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mandy Moore. I got a sneak peek at her album that's coming out next week this morning, and its amazing. I highly recommend it. I've seen her in concert for her last album, Wild Hope, and she is just honest and approachable and down to earth. I think she is fantastic, and am so happy to hear she shares my weakness for French fries
3She seems like someone who says this and actually means it, not like some celebrities who say they have healthy eating habits but who you suspect really live in cigarettes and diet coke.
4I have a love hate relationship with my boobs. I'm about a 38C which isn't huge by any means, but it's plenty for me. I love them and most days they make me feel more womanly, but some days they are just a pain. My bra is uncomfortable and so are my clothes. I can't wear some things because I don't want the "girls" to be falling out. Otherwise, I love them and my curvy figure...and so does my husband
5I love Mandy!
Cant wait for the new album! Wild Hope was so underrated.
6I've always loved her. She's just down to earth and you don't feel like she's just saying what you want to hear.
7Don't get me wrong, I love me some Mandy, but she's still on the slim side. She's not a stick figure, but she's far, far, far from average size, let alone a size where her hips would be a problem. It saddens me that someone who looks close to perfect still isn't happy with her shape.
8I like her attitude. I think she's one of those women who truly does enjoy her food and probably indulges every now and then but doesn't overdo it. I personally have a love-hate relationship with my legs. They are incredibly muscular and defined, but it sure makes buying decent jeans difficult. Lots of times, they're baggy in the waist and hips, but tight in the thigh.
9I aspire for a love hat relationship. I just hate it. The oly time I can tolerate my body is running and competing on cross country and track, those are the only times I don't think (for the most part) about how I hate my body, because it's preforming at such a high level, I can appreciate it.
10One of the many reasons why I love Mandy Moore!
11She's still very slim admittedly, but at least she looks human unlike a lot of female celebrities...
I have a love-hate relationship with my butt. Depending on the day, either I'll think it's TOO big, or I'll LIKE that it adds a definite curve to my shape.
12I love Mandy. She's a person and musician, and she doesn't get nearly the attention that she deserves for her talent and originality. I've heard her new album already and it's great. Go buy it!
13Wow! She looks gorgeous! Yay Mandy for being REAL...unlike BEIL. Yes it rhymes...
14No, I don't. I appreciate my body. My body sees me through a lot. It's strong, functional, and aesthetic (similarly as posted, I appreciate my hourglassy goodness
). I think my body is the most remarkable instrument I own.
15BTW, I think Mandy looks terrific in the photo -- lovely, pretty skin, and such a feminine figure. She looks like a woman (as opposed to a scrawny girl
). Good for her.
16No love-hate relationship for me. Just love!
17I have a love hate relationship with my legs. They look good in skirts but not skinny jeans.
18what hips? I don't like hearing women like that saying things like that. She's thin, and I don't think I've ever seen a picture of her where I ever would have thought about her as a hip-y person.
19she's not my definition of hippy or curvy
20I like her. You can really tell the size difference between Mandy and her very petite co-stars in the movie Because I Said So. I think she was pretty brave for doing that spa scene, because I wouldn't be able to.
21I still think she's slim. I remember seeing her interviewed and she said she was a size 8. She's a good example of positive body image, imo.
22I do love-hate with my height, which isn't a specific body part but rather an element of my body. I'm 6'1". I'm very slender but still look huge comparted to my petite friends. Superheight is GREAT for some things, TERRIBLE for others.
23I have a love hate relationship with my back. Weird, I know, but some days I'm like, "if my back was thinner, I would look awesome!" and other days I'm like "my back is broad because it's full of paddling muscles. And I want to be a strong surfer, right?" I think Mandy's right though. It's perfectly fine to indulge in your weaknesses every so often!! Besides, peanut butter's actually not so bad for you. It has tons of protein and some vitamins too
24I'm confused as to what hips she's speaking of.
25my thighs. they were so toned when I rode every day and took dance classes for a year. having a desk job and no bike or dance class has really taken it's toll. I'm finally getting them back in toned order.
26I agree that she's one of the few stars who seems to do as she preaches. She looks normal and is intelligent. She's talented: music, movie, fashion, and she actually carries herself with a poise that we don't focus on silly things like weigh and gossip when we hear about her. Go Mandy
27I really like Mandy.I'm glad she's comfortable with who she is and isn't trying to be a 00.
