There was a time when I thought I would never tire of Rihanna's "SOS" motivating me to push myself, so I put it on just about every one of my running mixes. It was great for a while, but this morning I heard it one too many times and just about threw my iPod to the curb and ran music-less. Truth is though, I work out longer when listening to tunes, so a tired playlist can actually make me feel tired long before my legs are ready to give out. The solution is easy; invest a few minutes in making an entirely new playlist of old favorites and new releases. The surprise of new songs will have a significant payoff and keep you motivated like the Energizer Bunny.
