Keep Up With Your Regular Fitness Routine

Don't Let a Few Days of Missed Workouts Turn Into a Habit

8

You meant to exercise this week but Monday you went shopping, Tuesday you baked cookies, Wednesday you wrapped presents, Thursday you went to your office holiday party, Friday you decorated a gingerbread house with your nieces, and over the weekend, you were too pooped to work out. Sometimes life — especially this busy time of year — doesn't allow for a trip to the gym. While it can definitely be beneficial to give your body and mind a little rest, you've got to be careful not to let your little break turn into a habit. If you've noticed that it's been longer than two weeks since you slipped on your sneaks and sports bra, then make a pact with yourself and pick a day to work out ASAP. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to get back into your regular exercise routine. Remember, a short workout, if that is all you can squeeze in is better than no workout at all. Here's a 30-minute celeb trainer created for FitSugar readers; print it out and take it to the gym. Just get moving!
