What breakfast is complete without a cold glass of juice? I love the flavor of both fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit juices, but never thought about which was more healthy.

Since both are citrus fruits, they seem equally nutritious, but when I compared the two, there's more of a difference than I expected. To see what I discovered, read more.
Although the differences aren't major, I was surprised that grapefruit juice contains fewer calories per serving. So if you're trying to lose weight, and you drink juice every morning, choosing grapefruit over OJ will save you 140 calories a week. If it's potassium or protein you're concerned with, OJ has grapefruit juice beat. Will knowing these nutritional differences make you choose one over the other, or is flavor more important to you?

I have to stick to oj because grapefruit can mess with a certain prescription I take for depression. Sadly, I really love grapefruits!
1I drink either one. I love Simply brand OJ, Grapefruit and Lemonade!
2i LOVE grapefruit and grapefruit juice; sadly they interact with my BC so I can't eat/drink it anymore
3I can't eat citrus fruit or have citrus drinks - but I dearly wish I could. The few times I sneak it - it tastes yummy.
4Orange juice
5I LOVE GRAPEFRUIT JUICE
(and closer to dinner than breakfast, its a great mixer with vodka or gin... so refreshing!)
6I have heard that it can mess with BC pills, but only if you have it within 2 hours of taking it, I thought... correct me if I'm wrong.
7Love grapefruit. Oranges are okay, but not a fan of orange juice, don't know why..
Sugar content in OJ is significantly higher too.....
8I like orange juice a lot, but I don't think I have really ever had grapefruit juice except for in a greyhound.... which I am also quite fond of! haha My favorite combination is peanut butter on a toasted bagel with a tall glass of OJ. Yum!
9I like better OJ...I guess I´ll try grapefruit juice to see if I can drop a couple of pounds.
10I like grapefruits better. I try not to drink my calories, though.
11i like grapefruit
12I usually avoid juices too but do eat oranges and grapefruit now and then. I have noticed that sometimes when I have grapefruit I would get pains in my legs which I've always associated with my BC. It hasn't happened in a long time since I only have 1/2 a grapefruit at most now.
13I usually have the fruit not the juice, but no matter how good for us grapefruit is supposed to be, I hate it. It doesn't taste good to me at all.
14I normally mix 1 part of OJ with 3 parts of Grapefruit Juice, it tastes wounderful and it's awesome post-workout after a bunch of cardio
15I'm not a juice person, so I don't drink either one. If I had to choose, I'd pick grapefruit.
16GRAPEFRUIT!!!!!!!! =) =) =) and it even makes wicked popsicles. Well OJ isn't too bad, but grapefruit oh my... =)
p/s: mixing both ain't too bad =)
17wait....it can mess with BC?!
18I'm with KibzeeLovee - I've never heard anything about grapefruit and BC...surely that would be mentioned by a doctor or in the notes that come with the packet? Is this just an old wives tale?
19I usually only drink water so as to consume fewer calories, but I do love grapefruit juice!
20I LOVE SIMPLY GRAPEFRUIT!!! (i actually have one in my fridge right now!) it tastes sooo yummy. I also love simply apple if anyone has tried that
21For orange juice, I like Florida's Natural. with lots of pulp! (can you say mimosas?)
I love citrus, any kind of citrus juice is good by me. Though all this talk of it messing with BC kinda scares me, I practically live off OJ!
