No stranger to unwanted media attention on her body size, Jennifer Love Hewitt has spoken out in the past on the media's constant scrutiny of women's bodies. Photos of her with a fuller-figure in a bathing suit created quite a stir last year and the frenzy over her weight gain followed by her shedding 18 pounds made her feel "a little embarrassed. It made me a little sad. It hurt my feelings."

She told Us Weekly:
It gets silly. We're all supposed to look how we're supposed to look. We're made to be different people. Not everybody can be super tall and super skinny. You have to look inside yourself and find your own confidence. It wavers from day to day, but that's human nature.
Although her choice of footwear for a game of tennis may not be the best, her words about body image and self-confidence are wise and true.

L.a.p.a.
Yeah, I've never played tennis in a bikini, let alone in wedge high heels.
1No kidding.
2Plus she's complaining about how silly it is and yet she still conformed by losing 18 lbs. Pretty silly.
and lets continue to insult a woman with self esteem issues...
:/
3I completely agree with her quote. I do not agree one bit with her footwear.
4I get the impression she's not trying out for Wimbledon and was probably caught in a moment of serious goofing around. I think her body looks fantastic, I'd kill for those abs!
5ugh! I'm tired of people worrying about other people's weight gain/loss! I get harrassed by my coworkers about my meal choices which have helped me shed pounds! Meanwhile, they are still trying to lose weight with a hot fudge sundae on their hands.
6I want the shoes! so adorable!
7What the eff is she wearing?
8who is insulting her?
9I saw these pictures yesterday and just wondered what is she thinking? What motivation would someone have for playing tennis in a bikini or wedge heels, much less a bikini AND wedge heels.
10I hope she isn't really playing tennis with those shoes on; she's going to twist her ankle doing that. I feel bad for her...she's trying to defend being your natural size/shape, yet she feels pressured to lose a couple of extra vanity pounds so she WILL fit the mold.
11WTF! Who wears shoes when playing tennis? This girl is such a twit.
12*shoes like that
13I def. believe that she wears a zero from these photos, and really probably was a 2 or 4 before (think vanity sizing, people!). She looks like a tiny girl with a pear shaped body. I can certainly sympathize with having a very tiny body thigh fat that never seems to want to disappear!
14She looks amazing! If she lost the weight to feel better about herself, then great! If she lost it to appease the public, then I'm sad for her.
15Wow, she looks great!
16She looks awesome!
17She was already fit in years past. $hit happens, life happens and now she's back to where she was. So what? Imagine having the world stare at you - in YOUR bikini!!
18Tennis? Completely a spontaneous moment. Again caught on camera for all to see. Ahh the price of celebrity...
hot body; bad choice of footwear
19She isn't being hypocritical when she lost weight. She was fitter/slimmer in her younger days and didn't realize she was overweight...because SHE WAS OVERWEIGHT, she really did need to lose those 18lbs.
This is why Americans have a weight problem, she didn't lose weight to be underweight she lost EXCESS weight. People are upset because she doesn't conform to their idea of "fat," she may not have been HUGE but she wasn't fit and you could tell. The problem is that the legitimate issue was about weight and fitness but the language was all about aesthetics.
Let's get it right people. She wasn't a hypocrite.
20Yeah, I hope that's a photo shoot. I don't know how one plays tennis in those shoes!
21I think she looks better, and is healthier at this weight.
If she lost 18 lbs, and looks the way she does now, there was no way she was size 2. At her petite height and frame (in spite of her full breasts), about 5 lbs is one dress size. I know because I have a similar built, but as an hourglass, not a pear. Sorry, I had to bring up her size 2 comment.
22J.L.H looks fabulous! Good on her. I felt terrible for her when TMZ and other newscasts ran the story of her in her bathing suit. But now, she's looking fit, she's so pretty and she's out exercising. All be it, in inappropriate foot wear but who cares. That takes skill, my ankle would roll returning my first serve.
23I miss my MG. It may have been very high maintenance, but it was really fun to drive.
By the way, she isn't left handed so that textbook looking two handed backhand isn't. Just a klutz fooling around and being silly on vacation.
24I'll do the honor of insulting her. I've seen other views of these pics and she's still look like sh*t. her ass is huge and there's major cellulite.
25Jeez so we slag her off for putting on weight then for losing weight? I'd sure be pissed if people were scrutinizing my diet the way we do hers!
Also, those shoes are gorgeous.
26cherimoya- you are so terribly ugly on the inside. we'd love to see your body. i bet it isnt perfect.
27Anon45: I'm sorry, but the body in this picture + 18 pounds = "overweight?" According to WHO?
And cherimoya: so according to you, this lady is "huge?"
I think both of you need to go talk to someone about your body image problems.
